Cars.
Why do I like working on them? I just spent five hours working on my FB, so it will be ready for a meet in a week. Today, I'm replacing the water pump, and while I'm at work my dad will be tapping the water pump housing for a mechanical temp gauge. No tap here is big enough, though, so he'll look around for one. We have 1/2 in. NPT, and I need 9/16 NPT.
I leave for work in an hour and am spending more time yacking on this forum, still having to take a shower. I smell like GL 4/5 and antifreeze, my hands are irritated and sore from gasket remover spray, and I've got a wicked sunbrun.
God, it feels good.

No luck on drill bit and tap. And I'm thinking where I want to tap the wate pump housing I may rub against the alternator. Factoring in another day blows, since I'm going to sleep today away.
I just hope my dad can make a little headway on the cherry shift knob.

You bitch so much. Not enough lube, blah blah blah.
By the way, I opened a bottle of my homebrew a WEEK early and it was fantastic, albeit a little flat

My car had a faded/dull finish. We did 2 rounds of compounding, then finally got around to waxing. It was night and day though when we finished. My car was like a mirror. A day well spent.

It's (was) better than it looks here. Before all the work we did, that hood had no reflection on it.

our lady friends not too happy that they were neglected

If you look at the rear fender, you can see we didn't finish. Seems to have a weird peeling clear coat. I would need a powered buffing wheel to do that section. All the elbow grease we used did work, but was wayyyy too slow.

Today, it was raining, so I covered the carb intake and put on a raincoat. Got the job done.
