Good Bike for a newb.
I've been thinking of getting a bike for awhile now. I was wondering what is a good bike to begin on. I want it sporty but i don't wanna kill myself just yet.
I know how to ride a little my buddy let me use his dirtbike to learn but i'm nowhere near a regular rider. Pics of the bikes would be cool too, if not i can just do a google image search.
Thanks ahead of time.

ninja 250 or 500 is your tool to learning quickly.
my first bike was a ninja 500, I loved it. Cheap new, cheaper used, dead nuts reliable, good on gas, etc.

ninja 500, suzuki GS500, suzuki SV650, honda 599. All good starter bikes. BUt mark is right, you gotta be able to control your wrist more than anything.

Way to quote a t-shirt from the 90's. Maybe we can get some Big Johnson, Co-ed Naked, and No Fear quotes in here as well:
"Lead, follow, or get out of the way"
"I'm the bus driver, because I take people to school"
"I eat weaklings like you for breakfast"
If anyone ever said "run with the big dogs or stay on the porch" to me with a straight face, I don't know if I would die from laughter, pee on them, or shuffle them off to the special bus.

No shit, I'm laughing at the fact that you actually said "run with the big dogs or get off the porch". The last guy that said that was wearing Zubaz pants and lifting weights in his front yard, all while not getting laid because he was a meathead douchebag.
