Tofuball has a spectacular aura about
The idiot car

So, someone told me to do an automotive writeup for TFL, so I figure this one is TFL worthy.

Most drivers seem to have major issues with three pedals, so a lot of cars now have two.

As can be seen by the drivers in Northern Virgina, people still seem to be having trouble with two. I now present the idea that in the future, that they will make cars that have only one pedal.

0% to 49% pressed = Brake intensity
50% = Neutral
51% to 100% pressed = Throttle

You can rig your current automatic car to do this quite easily:

1) Remove the accelerator pedal
2) Remove the throttle butterfly from the throttle body (Usually it's just two Phillips screws)
3) Use the brake to control speed.

Congratulations! You now have a one pedal car. I pity the thief who steals it, and the mechanic who changes your brake pads. Be sure to show off to all your friends!

NYC and North Jersey drivers are the best. All the guidos combing their hair, talking on cell phones (which is illegal in NY without a hands free device), cutting you off without a blinker, accelerating hard only to brake harder so you almost smash into them.

I didn't want this to be a "Who has the worst drivers" thread, but since it seems to have become that . . .

From my years of driving, I'd say the worst examples I'd ever seen, and the highest percentage I've ever seen, was in NoVA. Especially the Manassas and Fairfax areas.

I'm talking running lights long after they are red, running stop signs and crashing into other cars, then getting out and yelling at them, throwing things at other drivers, crashing into telephone poles and then backing up and driving off, driving obviously drunk, etc etc etc.

That's funny, I get all of the above from Tysons all the way to Rockville, Bowie all the way to Alexandria, and the 14th st Bridge all the way to the Anacostia Freeway...

Do laps of the beltway, you'll see that D.C. area drivers are all the same.

703, 301, or 202... It's all the same.

brakes would set on fire so fast... I do love the smell of brakes on fire... i just hate the noise of backing plates/calipers on rotors...

Here in CO, the left lane is the slow lane... i guess people get confused with the "slower traffic keep right" signs everywhere

Speaking about wearing the brakes out.....A friend of mine had a customer come into his shop awhile back complaining of lots of noise when he hit the brakes......My friend took one of the tires off and realized that he had worn the rotors completely through one side and half way into the cooling fins.....He hung those on his wall of shame. Seriously, I have never seen anything like that in my entire life.

I saw a 68 mustang do that

The rotor actually looks pretty cool after that.

It does! My friend welded some random stuff laying around the shop to one of them and made a metal "flower". It looked pretty cool to me.

i took my old car ('96 z28) to a local track day and had a ball... drove home and when i walked into the garage the next morning it smelled of what i first though was clutch, but it was not sweet smelling enough... as a reversed out and hit the brakes, it became apparent...

my brand new rear brakes smoldered all night into nothingness... both sides... it was pretty wild... second creek raceway is tough on brakes...
