Jesus' fear in the garden
I picked up this comment while reading another forum:
The whole entire point of the Cross as it links to our suffering is that we do indeed die the first death but the second death we will not suffer. What tormented Jesus at Gethsemane was NOT the physical death on the cross to come as cruel and horrible as that was. Many men have died that way, two that very day, and some worse deaths, the little death or first death of the body. No, what terrified God the Son was the second death, the forsaken wrath of the beloved.
I've never thought about this, why was Jesus so grieved in the gardenof Gethsemane?
Discuss.

Jesus was thinking of a way to get himself out of the corner he painted himself into.

Ah I see. So Jesus was radiating so much love that blood mixed in with his sweat.

not to sound rude, but what difference does it make to you? You think he is a fictional character anyways, right? So why debate anything about what He did, said, thought, felt? If you truly think that the Bible is a fairy tale, then debating what Jesus did then is like teaching a pig to sing....in the end, all you did was waste your time and annoy the pig.

no, you forgot one thing--youre trying to debate something you dont even believe in from the start. That makes as much sense as having two dogs, and saying "no, dont pet that one, he's only for when company comes over!!"
