And because you just made the story up on the fly...

So you're telling us that you had an NHRA competition license at the time and were running 9s consistently? Or did your buddy just let you jump in a 9-second car because you were such a great driver and you managed a 9-second pass on your first outing? After all, drag racing is just that easy...

In a long line of "I'm the best at everything I do" posts, this one is easily the most ridiculous. Next you'll be telling us that your master carpenter/police hero father taught you to drive 9s at age 10.

what's your best pass down the stip? 12s? LOL
$5 says you don't even have a 12-second time slip to your name.

2ndGen.Rocket is a jewel in the rough
Someone must have forgotten just how hard it is to run a 9 second pass. 15 years ago no less.

this was Lapeer "International" Dragway, ha, no one was checking licenses....but the car was equipped with a roll cage, fire extinguisher, etc. and I was wearing a helmet....all legal
And a fire suit. Surely you remember putting on a fire suit.

is IS that easy
No, it isn't, as anyone who had actually spent any time drag racing would confirm.

which is why I don't have a whole lot of respect for people that do it
No, the reason you don't have respect for people that do it is that you mistakenly believe it's easy (not having done it yourself) and you want everyone to think that you're an elite track driver because there's more prestige in that among the ignorant, it seems.

I helped my friend wrench on the car on weekends, and, in return, he let me take a pass on occasion.
Sure he did. You don't turn some idiot loose in a 9-second drag car just for turning a wrench.

and this particular car was equipped with a trans brake, which make the job even easier....drag racing is fairly mindless
I'd be more impressed if I thought you'd ever actually made a pass in anything.

not a very large wager there, but I didn't keep my time slips
Easy to lose something you never had in the first place.

Hi, my name is Mark Strong, and my amplifiers all go to 11 because that's 1 better than your amplifiers...

That's what I love about you Mark. You just keep adding "supporting evidence" as you think of it because you're not bright enough to get your story straight in one post.

If I had a nickel for every "600+ horsepower" big block I've heard about...

edit: I looked up the hp calculator and the car was probably closer to 800, although it was never dyno'd
Thanks for providing more proof that you're lying. So what did this supposedly 9-second big block Camaro trap on a 9.80 pass? Don't forget to use a calculator...

The one thing that you actually do better than anyone else?

The second someone says drag racing is "mindless" or "easy", you can pretty much bank on the fact that they've never tried, and if they have, they're down on the sport because they didn't do as well as they thought they would on the first time out.

One of my friends only managed a 13.7 with his ~330 RWHP FD the first time he tried. After that, he decided that competing in car shows was more fun.

Fact: How much "wrenching" could you have actually done if you don't know jack shit about what you were supposedly wrenching on?

"Mountain Billy"?!?
