removing roll pins

I actualy tried it the right way first, with an 8mm pin punch, but all that did was flatten out the pin. Any ideas how to remove one other than drilling it out?

The tranny roll pins? I've always used a punch and a big mallet. A regular hammer won't do the trick for some reason. You barely have to tap it with the mallet and it will slowly move out. The initial hit is the hardest, once you get it below that edge into the hole it's easy as hell.

punches work for me. i've even used a center punch to get it below the surface first.
