The 7 is going to be sold soon.... and in return of course i'm going to get another car. This is what i've narrowed it down to.. approx. $17,000 to spend
92-95 hatchback w/ b18c5 swap
-intake, headers, exhaust (basics)
-coilovers, LSD, wheels, racing seats, rollcage, gauges, big brakes... possibly nitrous
or
95+ Nissan SE-R w/ SR20VE swap (197hp, variable valves)
-intake, headers, exhaust
-blah blah, copy whats up above
Keep in mind i can't go turbo (actually i prefer not to). Whatever i get, of cousre i want it to be respectable... however its going to be hard to get close to the status/popularity the RX-7 was. My solution is to get nothing but expensive respectable parts like Spoon, AEM, Wilwood, Sparco, Apex'i, etc.. no cutting corners.

I remember seeing a 91 CRX with a C32 (NSX engine) in it online set up for road racing. That would be a very quick car but if its possible to do it for $17,000 I dont know. <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' '>

I say that you should get a 1st gen Tiburon, and put a Alpine Turbo kit in it. *Which is $2.2k for everything...brakes, turbo, intercooler, etc. *Put in your listed parts which is becoming available rapidly. * the stock internals AND INJECTORS are good to 18 psi (rods are at 11, but easy to replace w/ crower rods). *and you liked the rx-7 for the rarity, right? *well how many tibby's are there on the road?!? *not many?!? *And it's a beautiful car. *Plus for $9k you can get an awd conversion <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'> *<img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' '> *<img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> !!!

That would probably be the first time anyone in South Carolina has a Civic picking up the front tires.

I'd get the EG Hatch with the B18C. There's so much more of an aftermarket for those cars. plus used parts are more readily available.

Get your favorite car: MUSTANG.
You seem kind of tall in a hatch IMHO.

240sx right? right? *please dont get a hatch...no offense to the hatch people but clint, i believe the 240 would be the best for ya....just my opinion.
in fact, i may be lookin at one too...im going to be in the market for a new car soon and the 240 has been standing out at me lately.... but i really need a good project car for a newbie that is relatively inexpensive and easy to work on...anyone have any suggestions?

I'm sure a lot of people like 240sx's before you did. No offense. You just had the money before them. <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' '>
