selling a car is too stressful...
and posting it online leads to assholes trying to get FAR too much information, as well as making rediculous demands.
furthermore, i love how so many people suddenly become experts on Maryland laws when they try to buy a car.
example: someone emails me about the car. they want to know where i'm located, what i do for a living, why i'm selling the car, how i drive the car, how old i am, how often the car's been in the shop, exactly what date i last did an oil change, where my inspection certificate is, when the last time a CERTIFIED Toyota mechanic touched it, etc.
i answer most of those questions. the interested party doesn't need to know personal info about me beyond the fact that the car is owned by an adult, and anything else directly related to the car.
when i told him the car wasn't inspected since purchase, he went off on me, trying to claim that i'm a lying bitch. he's also claiming that it's the seller's responsibility in Maryland to inspect the car - no, it's not. that's the BUYER'S responsibility, and some people offer it as a courtesy. the only way it's a seller's responsibility is if it's a dealer trying to sell the car - they must inspect it before putting it on their lot. he THEN tried to tell me that i'm lying, when i mentioned that i recently worked for a dealership that did inspections, and i could prove him wrong.
argh.
i'm taking the car to carmax. screw this noise.

lol buying/selling cars is a huge pain. Everybody and their brother wants to drive it. I was selling my blazer for $800 and I must have shown it to 50 people who all tried to jew me down lower...

honestly, i'm fed up with them. IF i can get financing for the subaru, i'm just keeping the toyota for awhile. gas prices will keep going up, and someone will eventually want it.

Same thing happened with my Starion. It had a brand new motor I rebuilt in it, but at the time I thought the trans was going(was a bad injector) so I sold it to a friend of mine after about 20 people came and looked at it, nit picked everything, drove the living hell out of it, and then tried to go lower on my price which was only like 400$, WTF seriously, people are so fucking cheap anymore.
