because there is a state statute which says that receiving a blowjob from a minor is aggravated sexual assault and is punished automatically and unequivocally by a ten year prison sentence.
this case is a failure of the elected legislature to properly word the law to effectuate their full intent.
this kid just had the bad luck of being the poster boy for a badly written statute.
and yes, anal sex is illegal in many if not a majority of states... oral sex too... as in fully illegal, including between two legally aged consenting adults.
