Besides Infinity who else makes reputible parts for a 1911 pistol. Like barrles, hammers, slides, compensators, and so on so forth.

just about any of them are "good" get stamped or milled instead of cast if you can. Wilson Combat has some kick ass stuff, wish I still had some of the bookmarks 06 crash. oh well.

IMO if your looking for a 1911 and actually see yourself doing more then comps or just having it for a fun gun (ie if your looking for a pistol for CC or home defense) then stop looking at all the wizz bang space gun shit now... If heaven forbid you have to use the damn thing the attorney will have a field day showing the jury your IPSC Open Class gun with the red dot, extended mag and massive compensator that allowed you to drill the shitbag 8 times in the chest within 2 seconds haha.... Get yourself a Kimber or higher end Springfield (ugh i cant believe i just said that, i need a shower now) and tons of ammo for practice
