So I get into a little fender bender 2 days ago. Coming down the road and get into the lane that turns onto another road.

http://www.geocities.com/scrp13/accident.jpg

For some reason she is sitting on her brakes when I roll up. She comes off the brakes so of course everybody would assume that when she inches forwards means she is going to GO!!!!!

So, I take a quick glance to my left to see if any cars are coming and to my quick relfexes my head hits the fucking windsheild because it just so happens this bitch does not GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY!?!?!??!?!

Either way, zero damage was done to either car. But she still calls the cops and gets fucking tickets up the god damn ass. I work with this bitch to make it worse. Sit right in front of her. Blah, anyways, two staples cuz the bitch can't drive.

and then eat her!

but serious, dude i feel for you. i had this exact same accident about three years ago. of course fault was assigned to me.

now i treat yield signs as stop signs unless there are no cars in front of me. don't overestimate the intelligence of the driver in front of you.

No, I hit her. I thought her stupid ass drove off cause she "inched" forward.

What pisses me off their was no damn damage. KNow how many times thats happen to me where I've been hit and I just tell the guy/girl that its not worth the hassel.

She sasys she is afraid damage may had been inflected to under her car. The fuck under your car going to get damaged when the bumper that took the initially impact doesn't even have a SCRAPE on it??

Fat bastards -_-

Not to be a jerk....

YIELD SIGNS: This sign indicates drivers must reduce speed or stop if necessary to yield right-of-way to any traffic on the roadway they are crossing or entering.

So if she had a yield sign in front of her and she stopped...well then I would think it was your fault for following too closely or not paying attention to traffic...she was ahead of you.

What if she had stopped to let a pedestrian cross in front of her that you did not see....

I was taught in drivers ed that a yield was a stop sign....and I remember that this question was on the drivers test in CO.

anyway....not too much simpathy here from me...just tell the chicks at the bar you had saved a kitten from a tree but hit your head on a branch.

I could see what she could see. Their was no cars coming nor people walking. She did stop but left off her brake and started moving forward. SO, I glance to see if I need to stop or just yeild. Behold, she decided to brake check me out of no where.

Sorry, no sympathy here, either. If you ran into her, you're at fault. She's under no obligation to clear the intersection until she's ready to.

You should have been watching for her to complete her turn before pulling up to the point where you would then check for traffic before completing your own turn.

I take it that you were the one who got "tickets up the ass"?

its hard lesson to learn but essentially yes... even if there is no traffic coming and the person in front of you looks like they're going, make sure they actually go before you get on the throttle.

it seems like common sense, but sometimes when you're not paying attention you just assume they actually went.

azn; i know you guys are right when it comes to common sense but we all been through idiots that are break up. The situation sucks :(

NoPistons; seriously, no damage what so ever. I was driving my uncle grand am and you know they have a honey comb grill on the front. It made 3 honey comb dirt marks on the rear of her gray cavalier bumper.

If you want to call that damage? I mean come on, I hit a cavalier and not even a scratch????? You know that wasn't worth the hassel.

Thank you police officers on IllStreet, I know I'm at fault. But she still remains a stupid bitch for slamming on brakes for no damn reason.

The best advice I ever received concerning driving was from my grandfather. He said "Don't worry about your own driving, worry about the other assholes on the road. Hell ain't half full." The only thing you can expect behind the wheel is to expect the unexpected. Attentive drivers rarely get into accidents, and cautious does not necessarily mean attentive.

Well at least you admitted guilt RB240. You'd be surprised how many people would try to sue the other driver in similar accidents.

I was a claims adjuster and I always hated those bitchie people that complained about possible internal damage.

I've been hit twice and let it go after I saw that there was no visible damage. Internal damage my ass. Have you seen what's behind the "bumper" on most of these new cars? It's nothing to get worried about.

She's probably going to complain about how her neck hurts and how traumatic the experience was to your insurance company. Most of these people that are in low speed collisions are Fucking lying when they claim injury. I've been in a few acidents and even in one where the car was totaled and I wasn't hurt.

Unnecessary stopping of your vehicle is illegal. If you slam your brakes on at a green light, and you get hit, it's your fault 100%.

RB240 is still at fault, since he assumed that she had moved when she hadn't. But if you get drilled at a green because you stopped, it's your fault.

Oh, I have no problem admitting if it was my fault. I should have glanced once more to see if yes she did move. Wasn't looking for sympathy or to explain whos fault it was or wasn't. Just sharing stories because regardless who was at fault we've been through similar ignorant experience.

That is also why I furthered my story by explaining how absolutely no damage was inflicted to either party vehicle, however, she still wanted to claim some bullshit. (this is what my parents and everybody else was pissed about)

Go look that up. Unless they can prove you are commiting Insurance Fraud by purposely trying to get hit, the person following will be deemed "Following Too Close".

All the hit driver has to say is "Officer a (Pedestrian, Tree Branch, Moose, Tornado, UFO) came into the road and I had to stop!"

It is, but it's hard as hell to fight. Even if you "win" you'll be lucky to be found 75% at fault.

Your best bet is to say the guy changed lanes in front of you and then slammed on his brakes. :D
