ok so you probably don't care but i will share, my little SJ (2) had an actue asthma attack on sunday (we didn't know she had asthma) they let me take her home after 3hrs but we were back up there 2 hrs later :( we stayed the night but she was just as bad in the morning so we were rush by ambulance to a bigger hospital with a pediatric's unit in case she got worse or "crashed" because her heart rate was so high :( we finally got to take her home last night (tuesdsay) because she went from hrly meds to 4 hrly meds :) we are very happy to be home after such a scary time, and my little girl is going from strength to strength :)

i have on already for me, but they say and after seeing it for myself that using a spacer does the same if not better job than the nebuliser, but they had her on steriods, the nebuliser and spacer with 2 differnt kids of puffers and they wondered why her heart rate was increasing, hell i know what it's like when i have the flu and can't breath and puffing away on the puffer, i would never have dreamed of giving such a high does to such a young child

pretty scarey. so is this a wait and see? i used to love letting all my girls fall asleep on my chest when they were sick in some way. GREAT SPOILING AGE!!!!!

yeah pretty much czar, she got to spend a few nights with mummy in the hospital bed she seemed to like it, last night she crawled into her own bed and slept really well except for the fact that she had to be woken up and 12am and 4 am for more meds :)

Scary, but at least you know now so you can prepare for another attack.

Man that has got to be the worst feeling , placing you kid under the care of the hospital, essentially leaving you powerless.

I feel for you and your family, wish the best for your little one and you, I hope that she makes a fast recovery, and learns to control the asthma and hopefully grows out of it quickly!

Shes very lucky to have two parents that are quite attentive and got her the care she needed.

That's tough. At least you've gone through it once now so you'll know what to expect if it happens again.

yeah Jim any time a kid is sick, i supose the the worst thing is, is that when you are a new parent if you think there is something worng dr's often see you as a neurotic parent...................but other than that kids are awesome, well unless you have my problem.............
