there's a black FD in SC that i've seen in person that has an LS1 in it. damn that thing was fast as hell as well! he took the time to make the swap look good. heck, the motor looks like it was factory in the car. the eBay link, the swap looks like shit. he shoulda at least cleaned the engine bay first.

SpartanTS

Bad thing about it, he posted it for a starting price of $22,000.

You can buy a pre-owned RX-8 for that.

Yea, i mean if you do the swap right, then you can push a good bit of hp in like a 2800 lb car (after reduction i think).. and get some good mpg...

i always thought a v8 swap in a porsche 914 would be cool. you can find rusty ones around cheap. strengthen it up and have a mid engine car powered by a v8, those are very light cars too.

Sean951

heres some pics of 914 v8 conversions, done very well by the way. Those two are pretty much hardcore racers, but one would be fun on the street too.

there's a dude on my way to work that has a couple of 914's sitting outside....he owns a shop for vw's and porsche's. those cars are ugly as piss

Sean951

I used to think they where ugly to, but i guess they grew on me. thew look very aggressive with the 914/6 bodywork. I think the impreza is another one of those cars that has to grow of you. it doest exactly have any graceful lines like a ferrari or fd, but it is aggressive, which is good to.

ChevyMuscle

naw, for me the impreza was love at first sight... :wink2:

i cant fall in love w/ a 4 door "sports car"... its just not right... even back in the day all the SS's were all 2 door. chevy messed up w/ the 94-96 impala ss... but i own a 92 caprice lol... luxury not for the muscle but that 270hp gets that boat movin pretty well

your right about that, the older style headlights look way better than the new ones in my opinion. eh, make that the whole car, lol.

The 94-96 SS weren't as fast as ppl made them out to be either. The newer FWD SS will outrun the ol' RWD SS from the mid 90's.

mid 80s to 90s was just a blotch in auto history that could be forgotten about for the most part... my fav impreza was always the model year to 98 impreza, although the news ones are still hott... i saw a 83 monte carlo SS today at farrell... if only i had the cash, i really like montes...

i like the 2.5 RS 1999 2 door impreza 2bad they didnt come STI but u can always just do that urself... And theres no way a 2000+ Impala can outrun a 94-96.... the power is way different.... u go 0-120 in no time in a 94-96 i have a 92 caprice w/ 270hp police package w/ the shift kit and posi... its like hovering over pavement its so smooth. im not sure of the 1/4 mile times on the new impala ss but the bubble impala defintly is a better patrol car for high speed.

by far one of the smoothest road cruisers for trips... i dont know what ur talkin about but being in a cramped up FD for a 6+ hour trip doesnt thrill me. dont get me wrong i like them alot but going back and forth from HHI, SC - Pittsburg, PA from Wyotech and back home... i need a smooth ride i never said it handled well. most the time for U turns i have to make sure i have a 4 way intersection cuz the turning radius is so bad. but thats expected its not a sport car. Big Body american muscle is a totally different feel, u have to be into it. kind of like bein in a cramped up import...

Driving my Prelude from Spartanburg to Columbia was a PITA. Not very comfortable after 60 miles or so.

Riding in a Crown Vic for longs trips is quite comfy though. I can imagine the Caprice isn't much different.

if you gained 1 pound, you'd be able to tell just by having the get in and out of your car..:)...the interior of a FD is very small and cramped...i sat in driver seat and wasnt that comfortable, but trust me, id pimp one out anyway..:)

i just drove my car after not drivin it for about 2 weeks, been drivin a 98 lincoln, and it was sooo different it felt weird, i was molded to the seat when i got in, and everything was so responsive, the steering the brakes, man whatta world of difference

not too mention the stiffer suspension, i felt that right off the bat

Im with Chris and William, i like to wear my car. the 951 is a low and small car but it still has plenty of leg room and those seats fit me like a glove. i could drive it to washington state and back without complaints. if i was driving a more luxury style car i would probly get bored, fall asleep, and wreck.

i'm with Sean. my FC fits me great. i'm a small guy so this small car is perfect. the seats hold me just as well as racing seats but anyone larger then me wouldn't fit in the car very well.

I'm not a big guy myself, around 5'5, 120ish, and my Lude wasn't comfortable at all for long trips. It's about the same size interior wise and an fc.

everyone buys a car for a different reason. thats why there's so many out there to pick from. for me, i like a car to perform (handle as well as straight line). for others, they want more luxury ie. Cadillac. thats why the USA is nice, we have just about everything you want or need in a car and if something isn't to what you think it should be, you come to Chris (shameless plug for illstreet.com's parts section) and order parts to make it what you want it to be. :)

Keep in mind I have aftermarket seats that raised where you end up in the car and brought it forward as well as wrap more. The tracks are specifically made to fit me in the driver and heather in the passenger and the trunk is sized for robert.
