AustinsFD 10-13-2006, 01:40 PM how do they compare to each other? AustinsFD 10-13-2006, 02:06 PM i read the wiki article and it said the 7.62 has a better range but it dosnt say by how much... grr AmishBoy 10-13-2006, 02:27 PM Well the short answer is 7.62x51 is better than 6.8mm. Like 5.56 6.8mm ammo is smaller and you can carry more of it that really is the biggest advantage to it over 7.62. So what you want to do is take the smallest caliber that will work for your purpose so you will have more of it. But you live in Cali. where 10 rounds is the most you can have in a mag. So like for a pistol you should have a 45. Because most of them only hold 10 rounds anyway. I Cali you have allot of wide-open spaces get the 7.62. AustinsFD 10-13-2006, 03:34 PM yeah thats a good reason to get 7.62 because 10 is the max anyways... besides the ar-10 is there any other semi auto rifles that shoot 7.62x51? i want a assault type looking rifle not a sniper rifle. one guy said this company called Rock River Arms is coming out with a rifle called the LAR10 next year.... Supper 10-15-2006, 06:24 PM why the fuck would you want an "assault type looking rifle"!?!?!?! what exactly is the use of this rifle going to be and why does it need to be "assault type looking" IMO you would be better off find an old M1 or M1A chambered in .30-06 or .308 rather then finding an "assault type looking rifle." AmishBoy 11-30-2006, 07:07 PM This would be a good one.
