Ok the SOCOM isnt blowback, the trigger is stiffer than a blowback, it can use green gas(GG for short) and can shoot about 320FPS which is pretty good for a pistol

No clue on revolvers not my thing

http://www.justpistols.co.uk/ go there for the other pistols, alot are listed.

Meh, don't let em talk you down from it.... You actually chose two great guns, since I myself used to have a TM MK23 set just like the first link, and my friend who I used to wargame with still does have his Glock piece, only he threw out some extra loot to have the slide and some of the internals swapped for metal parts in favor of realism and durability.

Never had a problem with either, and actually I could say that I preferred my non-blowback MK23 to his Glock since the silencer has function to it and the fact that it's non-blowback actually helps with aiming (supposedly the story is that the real MK23 units have the ability to fire off a shot with the slide locked so as not to spit out shells everywhere when you're trying to be covert, so TK designed theirs as such) and saving gas for that crucial shot you might have to take later. Never missed the bastard once in a duel or our buddies with the AR15 and MP5 electric guns, but often because they really couldn't hear me coming till it was too late. lol

A pretty good TM review on the MK23: http://www.unconventional-airsoft.com/information/tm-mk23-nbb-review.php

And if you're really that snippy about it not being able to recoil when you fire, just get the heavier KSC MK23:

I should see if I can get RedR1 to post on this topic as well :D

I am here!

Well, minimike, it all depends on how much you want to spend. Do you want to spend $400.00 have have a gun that shoots very well, or do you wanna spend a grand, and have the best thing money can buy, only to be taken out by someone with a stock AEG?

It's all on how much you want to spend. Personally, I would say grab an AEG from Tokyo Marui, one prefferably with a medium sized inner barrel, and mod it for insane rate of fire. The Steyr AUG comes to mind. However, I would say, get the SMG barrel, and attach on a silencer to cover the exposed inner barrel from the SMG conversion. IIRC i used an M4A1 Ti inner barrel. If you use the stock AUG inner barrel, you will suffer from piston suck. Which, with a high rate of fire upgrade, the piston is moving so fast, it litterally sucks some of the momentum from the BB and slows it down before it leaves the rediculously long barrel. For the higher rate of fire, i'd say go with the tried and true Systema Ultra flat gears, as well as the AUG high speed kit. Also be sure to get a set of low resistance wires.

When I made that waaay back in the day, it was litterally piss bb's, you couldn't see a break in the pattern. Here is a pic of it:

Anyhow, I liked the AUG because of the mechbox used. It's been a while since I did it, but the mechbox was bolted to the actual motor, so there was no play like in the M4's where you used the bottom plate to push the motor into the mechbox. Add to the faxt that you can get a Systema high torque motor, and what not, you have some serious firepower.

There's a reason why aftermarket AEG tuners use the version 3 mechbox in their M249 and M60 mechbox conversions (TOP uses the bellows system, which sucks ass).

Anymore questions, just post. i'll keep an eye on this thread :)

Oh, if yer in Florida, or plan on it homie, there's a totally shibby event in September. . . you got my cell homie, lemme know :bigthumb:

Man, I haven't been to Arnie's Airsoft site in ages! However, if you are in Florida in September bro, there is a giant scenario based CT event at Camp BLanding. We are airsofting with the Army Rangers. Their running a CT even, and afterwards, we get to use the 6 city block layout for skirmishing. I'm coming out of retirement for this one event. . . . bc i loved the event at the Seaside Inn in Daytona. Before they demolished it, they gave us free reign on it, and we used axes on the doors, rappelled off the roof, broke windows, used smoke, etc. It was the best time of my life.

I should have my M249 complete by then If you are interested, shoot a pm my way. I think the FPS limit is 350 due to the CQB nature. I think sniipers are limited to 550 fps, but from a distance only. Anyhow, PM me if interested!
