I'm trying to expand my music collection.. what are some classic albums you think everyone should listen to at some point?

mostly rock is what I'm looking for, but I'd consider jazz/folk/whatever really.. just not country or hiphop :)

I'm guessing at your taste, but I think you would like Outfield's "Play Deep"...simple pop songs, but solid melodies and harmonies

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Play_Deep

I assume you've probably heard CDs like Def Leppard's "Hysteria"

and haha, pandora keeps throwing one of their songs at me, but I don't remember which one.. I'll look into 'em

Rolling Stones: Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out
Machinehead: Hellalive
Kiss: Alive
The Who: Live at Leeds
Thin Lizzy: Live and Dangerous
Motorhead: No Sleep 'til Hammersmith
Saxon: The Eagle Has Landed
Deep Purple: Made in Japan
Iron Maiden: Maiden Japan
AC/DC: If You Want Blood
Starz: Live- Piss Party
Nazareth: It's S'nazz- Live
Aerosmith: Live Bootleg
UFO: Strangers in the Night

Any combination of those should make you the coolest thing in town and shore up your live albums. Especially the UFO, then you'd really be cool.

incubus: a crow left of murder
jimi hendrix: the jimi hendrix experience
oasis: dig out your soul
a perfect circle: mer de noms
pink floyd: wish you were here
widespread panic: ball
Self titled sublime

any Alice in chains, if you wanna cheat get the greatest hits album or unplugged.
same goes for smashing pumpkins -the unplugged part.
I like all deftones albums the first 2 are a best but if you want something more mellow i'd say go for white pony
Flogging Molly: Drunken Lullabies
any Tool album Opiate is a damn good one...well they all are
Down: NOLA
