..to think I can get $14.7k for my dad's car?

Dad's moving on so he's asked me to list his '95 FD.

Pretty sure it's a Touring package car, since it has a sunroof, leather, and CD. The Bose system in the trunk is missing, it was missing when we bought the car.

99k on the chassis, motor and turbos rebuilt by previous owner at 70k. We've owned the car since 77k. Adult driven all its life, never tracked, never raced. Aside from an aftermarket radiator, the car is bone stock. If you're looking for a nice, clean, non-riced FD, look no further.

The paint is Montego Blue, 9/10. There are a few spots that could probably use some touch-up paint, which will be supplied with the car. The interior is nearly perfect; it's missing the equalizer knob from the radio, the shift boot is torn, and the driver's seat has the appropriate amount of wear for 99,000 miles. No tears/rips, just a few normal wear creases, like you'd expect on a car with this mileage.

The car needs nothing except a new home. Dad's loved the styling of the FD since it came out, but he's owned the car for a few years now and had his fun. He's moved on to something a little more comfortable for daily use.

Asking $14.7k/obo, my email is sav -at- jaykidd -dot- com. I will entertain offers below this, but please don't lowball me. You can find plenty of high-mileage, riced-out FDs for $12k. This is not one of those FDs. The car is located in Mountain View, CA.

Thanks for looking.

(Turn your monitor brightness up to view. I will try and get some better photos this weekend.)

the links for the images you posted don't work

but yeah it sounds like a good deal with a rebuilt motor and turbos with ~30,000 miles

damn I wish I can afford it...:(

i say its a fair price. cheap even, depending on the rebuild
documentation for the rebuild would help in getting more $ out of it
basically a nearly clean FD with 30k motor and turbos

you might want to state that fact more explicitly in your ad instead of relying on people to do the math

YEah. And dont advertise a fair price either, you gotta go a little high, since people will lowball you and you meet somewhere in the middle hopefully where the fair price is.

MB with tan leather is the lowest demand FD out there.......

Answered my own question. 3 legitimate offers within 12 hours of putting it up at the 7club. Steel, I started plenty high, $17k high. I didn't get a single offer until I dropped below $15k. I think the 100k mile chassis is hurting me.

^You're nuts. That Miata is gorgeous no matter what.

And I think its a super fair price. I wish I could buy it. Too bad I need a daily driver to replace my daily driver.

Cars with shiny tires are ricey, and the shit that makes the tire shiny flings all over the place and is just generally a mess.

Thanks, N_G. :bigthumb:

Edit: They aren't that dirty, either. They're just in direct sunlight, and the shiny black car and the near-chrome wheels make the black tires look dull.

Recommend something. I'll try anything once.

You're a detail buff, right? What final polish do you like? I've been trying to get my hands on some 3M Microfine but I've been too lazy to order it online and everyone who says they can get it falls through.

Meguiars Hyderdressing diluted 4 parts water 1 part solution. I like the 4:1 ratio because i'm cheap and I don't like the tires too shiny. Megs HD is a water based dressing so it shouldn't be slippery.

I would used Poorboys World SSR 2.5 first then use SSR 1 to finish it off since your car is black.

Would you go over it after SSR 1 with something like their Professional Polish to clean it up? I've been using Meg's SR2.0 with decent results, but it doesn't give the wet finish I want. All applied with a PC 7424.

The other thing I don't understand is why its so popular to put "Adult Driven" in adds. IMO that doesn't mean shit. Most of the adults I know with sports cars drive them harder then any "kid" out there.

First step is SSR 2 then SSR 1 to clean everything up. There is no more need for polishing after SSR 1. You might need a paint cleaner (ex:Klasse all-in-one) to prep the surface for protection though. Never heard of Megs SR2.0.

I hope you can sell the car for that much. It would make me feel better about selling my car if I ever decided to do it.

Yep, not to mention he says the car is 9.5/10 then talks about how busted that 100k car is. $9000 car. i flip more rx7s then i care to count, and this sounds like your abc joes car lot beater.

Unless it's german, italian or modded out the ass, I wouldn't pay over 10k for a decade old sports car, especially a japanese one.

And put Armor All on the tires. I've used every product under the sun, Armor All is still the only one that just makes your tires look clean and dark black. Fuck that shiny shit.

Sure... Armor All is oil based iirc...
