Help me figure it out. :firedevil


I do partake in quite a bit of steriotyping (sp) most of which are trends I notice myself. But does this make me a racist? but I meet, and get along with almost every one I meet, regardless of race.

For example, when I meet an asian person. For some reason I always expect them to smell like asian food. And they quite often do. It doesn't mean I dont like them. It's just that a decent percentage of asians I meet/walk past smell like egg rolls and fried rice so I expect them all too.

I'm white. does this mean that I smell like a cheese burger and just don't notice it? and none of the asian people I meet have the heart to tell me?

The list goes on and on but I have sterio types for all races from blacks to asians, whites, Itallians, mexicans you name it.

Does this make me a bad guy? What's up?

I'm feeling pretty tolerant today.

Though I was behind a truck full of mexicans on my way to work this morning and couldnt help but think how glad I was not to be doing whatever it is they were on their way to do. The heat index is suposed to be 110 here today!

No really, its just an observation not racism. Now if you would comment on them like "you fuckin slanted eye gook, you smell like fried rice and eggrolls; so go back to your country".... That would be racist. However, you my friend, are just observing.

But what I"d like to know. Why single out the asians? You bring the subject up please enlighten me(us) on blacks, italians, russians, whites.

I used asains as an example because the more common stuff like blacks and such are getting pretty old on here, and I was trying to think of something more off beat.

It's kinda funny... I room with two guys from the RX-7 Club, a culinary student, and an aerospace engineer....

Next comes the white 'Nam and military vets, or at least that's what they look like with the dirty camo jackets they wear...

Then just the white guys that just plain out look like bums...

I rarely see any hispanics or other kinds of people out on the "stroll" though....

I spend quite a bit of time in the Silver Spring (MD) area and when ever I go into DC nearly the only beggers I see are the Vet. type.

I think they do their best to shoe the homeless away from the "mall" area. which is were I usually hang out.......................

And the funniest thing I ever got was from a white bum when going back into D.C..... He asked me for money to get something to eat, so instead of giving him cash, I gave him free food vouchers for a fast food joint I had from earlier...

He copped an attitute and started acting like suddenly he was too good for a life-providing handout and pretty much called me a racist.... Go figure...
