Supper 11-15-2006, 05:19 PM looking for any and all info you guys can give me on doing carbon fiber stuff. I've been doing google searches but nothing technical has been coming up, just suppliers and shit like that. Supper 11-15-2006, 08:50 PM Considering I'm the largest vis dealer in the usa I can probably get you some info if you can be a little more specific. I'm looking for info on small scale carbon fiber molding for largish items (the bigest going to be a hood for my snowmobile about 2.5' wide by 3' long by 1' tall). Specifically looking for info on how to mold non-CF material into CF applications, so mold a mesh vent into a CF hood, stuff like that. 90% of what I want to do is mold snowmobile hoods, would like to do vacuum bagging rather then the squeeze mold shit. And C0s, if you could just do it for a good (cheap ;) ) price, I would just have you do it. You don't want to know the price that I was quoted to do a hood by a custom snowmobile shop in canada. edit: a hood for this thing; http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/Sup1661/Work%20Safe/motorcycle%20pics/4b76321e.jpg but 2" taller and with four or five large vents of Textaline fabric molded in, flat top instead of having a headlight, along with a CF airshelf similar to whats in the bottom two pics here; http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a303/Sup1661/Work%20Safe/motorcycle%20pics/02377f21.jpg and it would need to have four or six holes molded into it on the lower edge for my hood hold down straps along with some provision for mounting some PIAA or similar headlights on the top of the hood. Possibly mount the lights on the handlebars instead of the hood though. This one is close, but not quite what I'm looking for: http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/carbon-fiber-motorcycle-parts/ |
