Cosby 12-22-2006, 09:10 PM Just saw this on a jeep site. Has anyone tried one of these? http://www.genext.drilldoctor.com/content/view/13/28/ http://www.genext.drilldoctor.com/images//products/750_med.jpg AmishBoy 12-22-2006, 10:23 PM Yeah they're pretty good. Animal 12-22-2006, 10:28 PM yeah, we had one at work. Freaking rocked. Just gotta get the bit in right, otherwise the angle on the cutting edge is off and it just heats up the bit and doesn't cut anything. But once you got the angle right, it's the bestest thing evar. rxtasy 12-22-2006, 10:28 PM i hear they're pretty good but i've never used one. i've been able to make do using a regular bench grinder. Cosby 12-22-2006, 11:54 PM I'd like to try one out. Do you guys know of a cheaper one? czarofzar 12-23-2006, 01:38 AM drill doctor is all I know of. Itll pay for itself if you drill a lot. Yes, it works very well. Animal 12-23-2006, 03:11 AM the drill doctor is the one we had. But with the drill bit drawer (http://tinypic.com/e04w20.jpg) we had at work it paid for itself in no time. Supper 12-23-2006, 07:05 PM We have a drill doctor as well, I'm the only one that ever plays with it. Easiest one I ever used was our old one that just used a bench grinder. Hades12 12-26-2006, 08:31 AM Bought one for my dad two years ago, Best $150 I ever spent. Tofuball 12-26-2006, 09:04 AM the drill doctor is the one we had. But with the drill bit drawer (http://tinypic.com/e04w20.jpg) we had at work it paid for itself in no time. Thats a pretty decent setup there! What do you do at work? wotnartd 12-26-2006, 09:53 AM Drill doctor works miracles, no shit. Animal 12-26-2006, 10:42 AM Thats a pretty decent setup there! What do you do at work? Used to do ultrasonics R&D... machined parts for the machines we built. All fully automated, computer-controlled MAE inspection. Tofuball 12-26-2006, 05:27 PM Sounds cool to me, I bet you made stuff for your car while you worked there :P |
