BATMAN 10-20-2006, 02:54 PM http://www.ogrish.com/archives/man_killed_by_exploding_air_compressor_Oct_20_2006 .html Alex-7 10-20-2006, 03:47 PM For some reason, I think everything I see on that site is fake. mazdaspeedrex 10-20-2006, 05:19 PM Do you notice it is mostly from South America or India/Middle East. Animal 10-20-2006, 08:15 PM I always did, usually once a week. The old 1phase at work had a ball valve on the bottom on an elbow, I'd blow that out once a week or so, along with the two drain valves on the air line across the shop. The 3phase we got had a short piece of hose with a nozzle on the end comin off the bottom, so just hit that nozzle every week and it was done. One of the collection stations in rangely had an air compressor that had an automatic drain on the tank, bled for 2secs every 10mins or something. Scared the shit outta me every time that fucker went off. The worland plant had a twin-dryer deal that would switch between each tower every 5 minutes as well, bleeding one tower to dry it. Again, scared the shit outta me every time it switched. Well... he says it should be, but when he's not around we do it every friday afternoon. Not that I can really speak as to how they are doing things now that I'm not there. mazdaspeedrex 10-21-2006, 08:27 AM We drain our every night, but then again our are 10+ years old so we hope it was always done that way or boom, headshot. Cosby 10-22-2006, 05:13 PM I drain mine after every use. The last thing I want is rusty water getting blown on something. c00lduke 10-22-2006, 06:00 PM I hadnt done it for about 3 years and just did it recently. I may have to do it more often now. BATMAN 10-23-2006, 07:48 PM remember that Maxima's NOS bottle that genaded in his garage? http://www.saturnspeed.com/nitrousexplosion.htm Manntis 10-24-2006, 02:04 AM Working on the MLVWs and their air-over-hydraulic brake system, we'd drain the moisture from the tanks at every inspection or modification. |
