Well, that was the last really good war we fought if you ask me. Now that the Vietnam conflict is 30 years in the past it seems to me that fighting communism in that war and Korea might not have been such a good use of American lives.

I have a friend who is REALLY into WWII. He even does reenacting. He plays a British Airborne. Has the uniform, full kit, and even the guns. He's read every Osprey book, and if you looked at his bookcase, you'd swear he was a Nazi.

Whenever a new WWII movie comes out, he goes just so he can make fun of what they got wrong. Even the smallest little detail, like the piping on a shirt, or shoulder insignia can't escape his watchful eye.

Actually, he can be somewhat scary at times.

Sounds like he needs to find his dick, take off the shrink wrap, and actually use it. Man, woman, horse, whatever, he needs to get laid.

I have a Lithgow 303 rifle, that was used in service by Aussie troops in the European theatre.

I think WWII was the last war that has been faught that had a significant meaning, Korea and Vietnam were wars against a political ideal that people feared MIGHT threaten their own political ideals, but WWII was simply to stop a dictator taking over and forcing his will on the world.

And on Christmas you stop to play soccer againsnt the Germans. I'll pass. WW2 is alright, but for a video game nothing beats a gritty Vietnam FPS. There are no heroics, no great battles to win, its just to survive. I wish they would get a LRP/LRRP game right, Vietcong was close but they put way too many objectives into a mission to make it seem realistic.
