I was about to make a thread on this.

I remember playing the first installment when I was about 9 years old. I am totally hyped for this game. I'm just hoping it wont be an MMORPG like World of Warcraft.

heres what ive found out:

story:
When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram's Cathedral seeking clues to new stirrings of evil, a comet from the heavens strikes the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. The comet carries a dark omen in its fiery being and calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells – and even the failing luminaries of the High Heavens itself.

game mechanics:
- Playable both solo, and with other players.
- Battle.net is still going strong.
- All items are available to solo players as well as group players.

classes:
So far, only the Barbarian and Witch Doctor have been announced so far but you can expect five playable classes, each having the option to be male or female.

Barbarian Skills
- Cleave
- Ground Slam
- Leap
- Seismic Slam
- Whirlwind

Witch Doctor Skills
- Firebomb
- Horrify
- Locust Swarm
- Mass Confusion
- Soul Harvest

graphics:
New engine capable of rendering many players and enemies on screen at any given time. Destructible environments making use of the Havok physics engine for realistic interaction. Lots of blood and body parts.

Typical Diablo game... all seems well =D

i have an older panasonic laptop that is only used for diablo 2. i havnt played it for over a year though

My dad is STILL playing Diablo 2.

i still play it from time to time.

Everyone re-install, lets get some b=net games going.

Why do I have to reinstall? What if I never uninstalled it?

i am pretty stoked about D3...i second to idea to get some b-net action going on... i just remember quitting around the time they nerfed EVERYTHING except the paladin... that and the market was absurd...

Pally was always my fav, zealadins are fun but not too good higher up. Had an 86 HC pally and he got killed fighting duriel. I had fought a boss that casted Maiden on me then i ran in to fight duriel and killed myself swinging for the fences.

My dad is insane, he had (has?) a level 99 HC Necro IIRC.

No bots\rushes.

If you are bored enough to be reading this little comment, check out for a good time any of the following older, highly rated (imho) rpgs like Gothic 1 & 2 & 3, Arcanum, Planescape Torment, American McGee's Alice, Vampire Bloodlines: the Masquerade, Fallout 1 & 2, Baldur's Gate, Sacred 1 & 2, Icewind Dale, Deus Ex and Morrowind Elder Scrolls 3 & Oblivion. I wasn't too excited with (and wouldn't highly recommend, again in my opinion) Dungeon Siege 1 or 2, Titan Quest or Fate.

I really liked Deus Ex, too bad nothing like that has come out since.
