I'm a manager for a drug store, and all the managers do a 3rd shift rotation. I happen to do it twice a year, and this is my first time ever working 3rd.

Work 8 days, off 6 days. 9PM-8AM

If anyone here have any experience working 3rd?

I did it a couple summers between school semesters. I actually enjoyed it albeit a different environment as I worked in a factory. I definately met some characters on 3rd shift. I primarily liked it because for one on Friday and Saturday night I was ready and awake to go out and since it was in a foam plant with steam furnaces it was cooler on third than either other shift.

I work second shift, but it was third shift. I work 6PM-6AM and this is my schedule: http://www.google.com/calendar/render?cid=wotnartd%40gmail.com

I can't even describe how it is, but it kinda blows, but at the same time is really nice, because I get every few days off.

i just swithced to days after nearly 5 years of a 9:30pm to 6:30am shift. nice to be able to wear jeans to work, listen to music at ridiculously loud levels, walking around barefoot. not having to go to stupid meetings all day...

I usually get stuck on night shift when we do projects involving them.

We usually run from 7pm to 7am though. I enjoy it once your body gets used to it.

Looking at getting a job for next winter that will be all night shift work while still going to classes during the day.

I work 6pm to 6am work 5 have 4 off work 4 have 5 off. It sucks to work 2 weekends a month but when you have days off during the week, you do not have to deal with all the people!!. This is my 4th year doing this and on my days off I switch back to getting up at 5am

Never done 3rd shift, never will at this point. Gonna be working 12-15 hour days starting in May though, and probably for the next 4 years.

Sorry bud, have been going to school way too long, studying too much finance, and networking with too many people to give up the loot now.

Well, college is the first step. Grad school is the second step. And even though you have to know the right people and bust your ass to network in order to get really good jobs.
