moms friend sent me this:

Hi All! If you or someone you know drives a Dodge Durango, have them call their dealer immediately to have them put it in for a recall that was just announced on April 2. My stepson, Chris' fiancee had an 04 Durango that burst into flames yesterday. She had turned on the heat about ten minutes before and smelled something funny. She called Chris and he told her that maybe some plastic from a bag from delivering newspapers had gone up under the dashboard. It didn't really smell like anything burning or smoldering. It just smelled funny. When she was stopped at a light (thank God) she noticed her insturment panel lit up everything on the panel. Then her wipers and windows started going crazy and then she noticed a puff of white smoke come from the instrument panel. It was soon followed by black smoke. She got out of the car and walked around to the passenger side to take the keys out of the ignition when flames shot from the instrument panel and immediately ignited the ceiling of the car. She was lucky she got out when she did or it would have flashed in her face! Thankfully she didn't have any of the kids in the car with her as they all would have been burned before she could get them out! The inside went up in no time. A man jogging by saw her crying on the phone with 911 and asked if she was okay. When she told him her car was on fire, he ran home (2 houses up) and got a fire extinguisher and was able to put it out. Unfortunately, the car is totaled. She did a search online to see if there were any recalls or if others had the same problem and sure enough, she found there had been a recall for the exact same problem just issued April 2. Chris went to the dealer and showed them what they printed off the computer and they looked it up and said they just got notified on April 4. So, please pass this on and tell anyone you know with a Durango to call their dealer and insist it be taken care of right away! It literally took seconds for the inside of the car to go up in flames!

Luck of the draw, really.

My uncle thinks that Chevy Astrovans are the best vehicle ever made, no matter how many recalls they had. I have another relative that has never had a problem with a Ford Taurus, and swears that the Camry is the worst car ever made.

An abomination that ugly should burst into flames...

With that being said, I had a Prelude that was leaking P/S fluid on the header and burst into flames at a gas station. Talk about scary...

I predict Hugo sales to be on the rise for the next quarter
