the new owner is a friend of chris's he has already banned hershal(i am sure i spelt that wrong) czar, zero and psychokitty (sorry if i forgot anyone) everyone seems to be getting infractions (except me) um this place really has gone to the dogs, someone said it was mark being banned, but seriously you take away half the board and the ban those who post the most and what do you have left??? a shithole

I think you are correct....I actually came here on a whim. I saw the link and just joined for fun, since everyone was a noob it was easy to fit in, and I have been here ever since. I use it occasionally to relieve the boredom at work.

I joined because of YZF, but I stayed for the cake.

Teh Noob made it perfectly clear in the chatbox earlier...he will ban EVERYONE if he has to. He has an ingenious plan to repopulate the forums.

I guess I really don't care about who owns what, and I don't expect anyone to really care about what I have(or not) done for them....It is just the internet, but I do find it interesting with the banning of everyone.

Right, it's a dictatorship... That's why I've asked every step of the way what people thought and what they wanted. What do I get? Nothing but rude, thoughtless responses. Those people obviously have nothing to contribute to the forum. I'd rather see 5 thought out responses than 500 posts of people whining about me banning them for breaking the rules. The rules haven't changed people.

In regard to the disorganization of the site. How organized was it before? Most of the categories had about 150 threads max. I drop in the ocean compared to shooting the breeze.

The shoutbox is designed to encourage immediate participation. The largest number of people come here searching for "free chat" so why not give it to them in the interest of growing the forum. I'll be glad to take suggestions on where to put it, how to configure it, etc. but I think it needs a little more time before it is removed.

What brought you to this delightful slice of the edunet?

I just felt it was easier to find certain topics...people seemed to post politics in the politics section...cars in the auto section and so on.....maybe just more for aesthetics

Things were organized fine. The sub-forums just aren't as popular as STB. What about all the good Automotive threads? Do you realize 95% of this forum's members are INTO CARS? I know for a fact some members had put a lot of time and effort into creating build threads about their cars. Did you ask them if they minded if you got rid of them? Dictatorship? Yes. You changed the entire fucking forum without asking the members what they thought. Then you wondered, "gee, why is everyone so upset and rude?"

Well, I do think consolidating the forums would make sense, I understand where Teh Noob is coming from. However, wonner has a good point - a lot of good threads are lost this way - also having the additional forums is a good way to let newbs know what this forum is about. They see "automotive" and they say "Hey, I like to talk about that."

Well, there is a chance that things could change with the new owner. Either it will become a true "anything goes" - or maybe they'll change the text to reflect the truth.

I don't think that it will ever be an "anything goes" forum. Not enough people seem to want it. Oh well.

Well, "anything goes" doesn't seem to bring in the money the proprietors need to run the place.

This forum will never make money without a specific purpose. There are plenty of off-topic type forums out there...this one will never last now. I'm afraid Mr. Noob is out three bills.

maybe I could integrate the topics into the header somehow? I agree you have a good point

Maybe add a few of the forums back, it's not so bad as long as you keep the total number of forums down - lets say 7 or 8 at most, and try to avoid sub forums. You really gotta bring back the automotive forums, some people really worked hard on the threads in there.
