Manntis 12-26-2007, 06:39 PM Convert a CRX or similar small car to electric. It'll cost you less in the long run, be easier to insure, and provide real crash-tested safety zones. 95whitepep 12-26-2007, 07:34 PM "It has 2.5 seats" What put half a person in the back??? http://www.bodypartsdirect.co.uk/en_b_8_109.jpg rodney87 12-26-2007, 07:39 PM I was wondering about that, child seat maybe? Tofuball 12-26-2007, 08:00 PM I'm looking at getting a VW bug to convert to electric :) wotnartd 12-27-2007, 06:37 AM I should convert the Tracer or an older Escort. Vert8813B 12-27-2007, 08:28 AM I should convert the Tracer or an older Escort. Liberal Hippie Homo. Cosby 12-27-2007, 11:31 AM That thing is a death trap. Caseycopyrighted 12-27-2007, 01:46 PM It really doesn't look safe... wotnartd 12-27-2007, 04:17 PM Liberal Hippie Homo. No wai! I wouldn't make it for the highway, I'd make it for the drag strip. My car weighs as much as my FB, so it only make sense to make it faster. rodney87 12-27-2007, 04:39 PM I'm looking at getting a VW bug to convert to electric :) That reminds me of the old 3 cyl geo metro we've got gutted out at our shop... Tofuball 12-28-2007, 11:30 AM http://forum.ecomodder.com/showpost.php?p=2110&postcount=1 rodney87 12-28-2007, 12:54 PM Is doing that to your car even legal? Cosby 12-29-2007, 10:44 AM That thing is a heap of shit. More so than most other "low drag cars" aznpoopy 01-03-2008, 07:54 PM 300 mpg im sold edit if it had a standard sized tank, the car would get more oil changes than fill ups (lol) wotnartd 01-04-2008, 12:21 AM I saw something on a compressed air powered car on some show several months ago, and found it quite interesting. I think I am sold on the concept of using high PSI air in a CF tank (so if it blows it doesn't turn to shrapnel) to make the car move until it's empty. If the designer is correct, it would help a lot, and then when it runs out, an engien will takeover and give power while filling the air takes at the same time. Ah, found it. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/01/worlds-first-air-powered-car-introduced/ I'd buy one, and with gas prices jumping $0.10 over night, I'd buy one as soon as the tracer dies. aznpoopy 01-08-2008, 01:37 AM same concept as a hybrid electric i wonder which is more efficient wotnartd 01-08-2008, 02:24 AM It would be interesting to see. The nice thing is you can fill it up rather quickly at the proper station, and slower, but cheaply at home, also. Another vid. http://www.youtube.com/swf/l.swf?video_id=QmqpGZv0YT4&rel=1&eurl=http%3A//www.autobloggreen.com/2007/05/31/yet-another-video-and-more-information-about-the-aircar/&iurl=http%3A//img.youtube.com/vi/QmqpGZv0YT4/default.jpg&t=OEgsToPDskKj6wYAq2bLyekAmZURp4tp I justwatched the end of the video and they had a weird rotary engine thing. How hard would it be to convert the Wankel to air? |
