If I don't see a dramatic decline in hostility here I am just going to pass the forums onto another website and I will make the store the primary function of this website.

The purpose of this forum is to be a means by which to share ideas without the fear of someone calling you a moron every time you ask something or talk about your interests. Constant bashing and arguing detracts from the purpose of this website. If it’s a stupid question then it should be an easy question to answer so answer it and don't be rude.

Just because someone doesn't share the same hobbies or likes as you that is no reason to CONSTANTLY bash them. As I recall there are specific categories on here that have been devoted to audio/body modifications as well as racing. I consider open-mindedness a sure trait of a mature, respectable and well-rounded person.

I remember a time when these forums got close to five new members a day and had people of all sorts, interests and backgrounds posting daily. Now illstreet sees 1.75 million hits a month and doesn’t see the same volume of posts as it used to. Through the years these loyal posters have dwindled away because of constant arguments due to my thoughts that this should be as close to an unmoderated forum as possible. I intend to change this and the next time I see someone bashing another person’s ideas, questions, interests, hobbies, job, car or choice of modifications they will be banned for one day on their first offense. They will be banned for a week on their second offense. They will be banned for a month their third offense and their discount will be suspended indefinitely. This is my only warning and I will start to enforce this as soon as I click post (3/1/04 4:35 PM)

I hope this new policy helps to bring new life to illstreet.

I just read this thread and would like to express extreme apology to all that i have offended and made ticked off. If you can find forgiveness for me it would mean alot. I just read this whole thing right now, and I am going to stop any bashing or name calling. Whether I started it or not, I should be the one to not step up liek a 10 year old and try to finish it. This board is not at all about bashing people and is not completely full of idiots like some of the others that I have gone to. I actually have respect for most people on the board as I have met some of you.

Anyways, thanks to all the people responsible for this forum and this website, and especially to Chris for all of his work on Illstreet.

normally I'd consider the board better moderated but I am currently in orlando and have been extremely busy.
