Old pic and old stands.

Here is my most recent pic.

The wing is lower, however, I have to go a little faster to get the same downforce effect.

It's funny to see people make arguments against a wing when they are the same folks that usually talk about over sized tires, brakes, huge HP boosters, and trap speeds.

"But we can use those in every day life! "

That has got to be my favorite excuse.

No. You cant.

amen.

i bet non of them even drove a car with a functional wing. Believe me, something that big and tall will work.

Funny. Speaking of functional, but not necessarily astheticly pleasing aero a guy I know who autocrosses a '68 Plymouth Valiant in SM has been doing track days lately. He made a crude air dam to extend his front bumper down over 5". It works for him. This is from his e-mail to the Mopar group we're on.

Added front spoiler/airdam made from perforated angle and lawn edging material less than $25 at HD. Added over 5" below bumper. Bolted angle to bottom edge of bumper and bolted edging to angle. AWESOME- added more than 250 rpm or 5-7 mph down the straights. Max speed down the back around 130 mph!!

You can see pictures at http://www.shutterfly.com/pro/chrisjklein/lotus090295
The red Valiant can be found on pages 1,6,7,8,18,19,20,21,22 and 23.

and i would think autox would have less use for aero anything compared to triple digit speeds......

Damn, I haven't seen a Valiant in anything other than beater form for years.

Right, that's why I mentioned he's been taking it out on track days and included an excerpt from his message. He's running 130MPH at PIR (Portland).

My road race prepped '66 Dart would do around 122-125. I instructed at a Viper Club track day and got to drive my studen't GTS. The Viper made an indicated 140MPH on the back straight pretty easily.

And my '72 Dart Swinger's engine compartment before the little B&M Powercharger went on. The enigne compartment was repainted in the original Torr Red (Hemi Orange) in base/clear. The rest of the car will also be repainted. Neraly $600 just in paint materials and it's not even the expensive stuff.

This is my 2nd Dart Swinger. My last was a '71 with the flush marker lights, but it was green over green with a black top. This one is a '72 with the surface mount marker lights, but it's orange over black. This engine might be enough as-is, but I have a little NOS Super Powershot system I could throw on to add a little more. The car has been sitting ever since I moved in February as I'm still waiting on my new house and 3 car garage to be built. The 3rd bay is going to have 12' ceilings to accommodate a lift. Other special touches include two 50 amp 220V outlets for my welder and 5hp Speed-Aire compressor.

Thats not Canadian Navy. Its too nice, and it works. Canadian Navy is a blow up dingy that leaks, and a sling-shot for weaponry.

ok i can understand laughing at ricers that have a huge wing on a stock car, but batmans is actually functional. and spaeking of old dodges if big wings suck so bad then why does everybody swing on the nuts of old road runners, super bees, etc. that came from the factory with 3foot tall wings?
