This long eared, long nosed, hairless nocturnal animal is growing rapidly! It was only 3 pounds at birth, and after 2 1/2 weeks, the aardvark nearly doubled its weight to approximately 5 pounds. The aardvark is fed a bottle with 2.5 ounces of a specially formulated diet four times a day. The aardvark sleeps in a warm 80 degree incubator, coming out for feedings, exercise and exploring each day at noon and 4 p.m. It will begin eating solid foods in about one month.
