Last night I was on the freeway, traveling at freeway speeds when all of the sudden BANG!!!

I ran over at least a debris that was hard to see on the road, even with the HID and 2 pairs of fog/driving lights on.

And to impact things even worse I went over a pothole.

I fucking hate it when people dump shit on the road. I can't tell u how many times I have seen shit fall off pick-up trucks.

At any rate I hear clunking noise off and on the pedal.

Once the car is on a roll it behaves.

Also, there are at least 2 dents on my engine hood and a cracked windshield.

93 FD with 250k~ miles

Well almost a year ago my FD had a similar incident that caused the left front wheel to slam up in the wheel well so hard that it rubbed a hole in the fender liner and took out a few wires.

The harness is over a $1000 + labor and they were about to total it until the adjuster said that he looked for similar FD's on the market to get a market value and my FD with 230K~ miles was worth (in their books) $14k + whatever $$$ I had in mods on it.

If this car gets totalled, I'll either get another FD (black or CYM) or something more on the luxury side, like an Acura CL, since I have been looking at something posh with NAV, heated seats, the works.

I was going to check out a E46 M3, but my friend is having nothing but problems (electrical ones) on his M3 E46.

Buy back the fd and use the rest of the money toward a CL.

I doubt it will be totaled, but even if it is you can almost always retain salvage of your vehicle (just remember to bitch a lot to your insurance company). You'll get the market value of your car minus your deductible and salvage value and still keep your car. The bad thing is you'll still have a salvaged title and an at-fault accident on your record.

I used to work as a claims adjuster, so don't think I'm just BSing.

I made a complete pissload off of my FD....

After they give you the first offer, say you need a few days to think...

Dont contact them, and in 2-3 days they will contact you. Just keep bsing, and they'll up figures to settle quickly and get it out of the way......and trust me....buyback will be cheap as shit..... I bought my FD back, parted it out, and made 4 times the amount of buy back....

They didnt issue me a salvage title either...they let me keep the original.

State Farm would probably treat this as a Comphrehensive, not a collision based on my past experiences with them.

Chances are that it would not be my fault since I had claimed road debris damaging my car in the past.

Zero deductable for me.

Bummer.

I ran over a 2 foot long piece of steel with my FC.
Driver's front tire picked it up and rammed it through the bottom on my car.
Luckily it didn't get me, it was close.

I've never seen or even heard of a truck getting pulled over for not properly securing a load, but I've seen plenty of things lying in the highway that could kill someone.

Like retreads? Fuck, there's been a few times on my bike where I haven't seen a giant retread sitting in the middle of the road until a few yards before. Hitting one of those things at 70mph on a motorcycle could fucking kill somebody, really quick. I don't even know why they allow trucks to retread tires, that shit should be illegal. I see them laying in the road all over the fucking place, it's not a once in a while thing.

This may just me, but don't get a CYM. They look nice and all, and I know their "limited" and what not, but yellow? Maybe it's just me tho. If you go FD, i'd say stick with the BB, it's a dead sexy color, especially with a fresh coat of zaino on it.

wonner - "its a trick"

BATMAN
08-22-2005, 03:52 PM
No trick.

First I don't own a digital camera......... not when I had spent $$$$ on a Nikon SLR.

Second, the damages on the outside are 2 dents on the hood, small crack on widnshield and perhaps damage to the condensor.

Most of the damage is underneath the car.

BATMAN,

How on Earth do you own an FD and not a digital camera? This question isn't any more loaded than the first, but the replies to the 1st were quite funny.

Here's a poll. How many FD owners don't own a digital camera? I have the original S100 Canon digital Elph that's going on 5 years old, but other than the batteries it's been perfect.

BATMAN
08-22-2005, 04:34 PM
Good question and Offtopic.

I spent a considerable amount of $$$ on a N90s when it first came out.

Like any electronics, I am hesitent to by unless I have a dire need for it since the minute u walk out the store with it something new comes out.

Second, I don't really use a camera that much.

Third, the only digital camera that exceeds my 4.5fps film camera will costs $$$$.

Great. Then you can have giant digital pictures or your giant rear wing. :hide: My camera doesn't go beyond 1600x1200 and even that's large on a web page.
