I'm not drinking this week. Been hitting itreal real hard for like the past month and I think it's cought up with me.

Went to some retarded college ghetto front yard "beer fest" kinda thing last night. Beer pong, flippy cup, quarters, giant "das boot" glass chugging... blah blah. did a bunch of drugs and drank till the middle of this afternoon.

I'm to old for this shit now I guess. My insides hurt, my hands shake, I have mystery bruises all over me that arent going away,I cant remember the last time I ate and I'm nowhere near hungry. I cant even smoke a cig which is like my favorite thing to do, I killed like four packs yesterday it feels like.

No bueno.

So it's a detox week for me and I want the forum lushes to join me. Vert, put down those cherry coolers till friday. Same with czar and shots of $6.00/gallon vodka. And no pints of warm ale for fenda and his merry mates.

A week long prohibition.

Here's what you do Alex... Go to the store and get a couple 1 liter + Bottles of water. Drink THREE LITERS A DAY of water.

What you feel, my good man, is some serious dehydration. Really, go take a piss and I bet that shit's either a stranger orangish-yellow or powdery. Keep chugging water till you can't tell your piss from the toilet water (I don't mean the first piss of a night out, or after coffee either).. When you reach that stage you are hydrated enough to party like a fucking rock star!

Staying hydrated before and after drinking is like breathing when you work out. It's not one of those things you normally think about, but when you *do* realize the advantage, and practice it, you have outstanding results.

So my verdict Alex.. don't stop drinking this week. Start drinking more, just change what it is you are putting into your system.

Oh, and I don't really drink the warm cask ale's that much... Nice smooth bitters for me, or Hefeweizen, or a glass or two of nice red wine. Then there's always the SoCo and Lemonade, or the Rum and Coke, or the SoCo and Coke, or the SoCo and Lime, or the Mojito, or....

Yeah, I won't smoke here in the UK, but I won't quit drinking either damnit!!

I had a long week of partying too. Sunday of last week, went to the Pub quiz for an early night, but met some crazy English chick. That turned into a 3:30 AM night. Packed my bags for Switzerland and missed the 5:57 AM train because I overslept. Finally arrived in Switzerland and partied late every night (Euro 2008). Arrived home Thursday evening and met my friend at a Scottish pub. Early night, partied until 1 AM.

The next morning, my friend was supposed to drop his bags off at my apartment, couldn't find a taxi (President Bush was in town, traffic was crazy), so he arrived late to pick me up. So we missed the bus to the airport, and took the taxi. 138 Euros ($200+). Beer at the airport to celebrate not missing the flight. Beer on the plane because we were stupid enough to fly on Friday the 13th. Glasgow was great! Couldn't buy a drink, because anytime my pint was 1/3 full someone would hand me a new one.

Arrived back in town Sunday night and back to the pub quiz which we won. 6 free drinks was the prize. We took a raincheck on the drinks. Got back to my apartment and I slept for 10 hours.

My friend from Italy should arrive either today or tomorrow and she is crazy. This weekend 5 people are crashing on my floor because of a music festival. So last night was my only relaxing night until next monday.

I can't find any black label SoCo over here.. I *did* bring a bottle back with me from when I was on vacation in the states though. That and Schweppes Lemonade is fucking killer!

The mixers are very different over here as well, not very likely to find your standard cocktail mixers in your average pub. BUT! You will find lemonade, Blackcurrent, and lime, EVERYWHERE! I *hate* vodka, but even I'll drink a Vodka Zulu (Vodka, black, and Lemonade).

I am moving back to the States in early August, so your trip needs to be soon. My French friend, her Aunt, and I are taking a road trip out west in my old mustang. Figure I would hang out west, go camping, and ride mountain bikes for a month (Moab). Then help the parents out, installing wood floors in their house. After that, I might be back to Paris in October/November.

Not drinking certainly helps as well. I still have a couple beers or a glass of wine pretty much every night. I don't drink like I used to though, well at least not nearly as often. You will find yourself feeling a lot better. Coke is the main thing though, not only does it make you feel like absolute shit, it ruins your life. I've got quite a few friends who are completely fucked up with coke.

I've got friends/associates who do yay, they know that I don't. I'm not going to tell them they can't do it, but they won't do it around me. I've just gotten up and walked out of my friends flat before because he thought he could set up and do a quick line while I wasn't paying attention. I wasn't offended, he wasn't offended, it's just a matter of making it clear that you will NOT have that sort of stuff anywhere close to your life.
