Well...
I have a couple AR's sitting around in the safe, and doing something like a 6.8spc would be a blast. Not to mention it would be legal to hunt with.
But, is it worth it to chop and hack an original Colt AR-15 with less then 1k rounds down the tube? Or just start fresh with a new bushy lower and go from there? Bare lower, or loaded?
Guns are fun :wackit:

DPMS has a better price with equal quality. But I would just get a complete upper from DPMS in 6.8 and use the Colt lower and just go back and forth using the same lower.

I was considering that, there are even a few custom places I can get some really good deals on uppers from, but the problem is I want to build something with a "match grade" lower. The Match HBAR I have is nice, but I was thinking something along the lines of a two stage national match trigger, ya know, the good stuff ;)
I should stop thinking about it though, too many other projects on the back burner right now... bike, sled, 338 1k tactical gun, glock, 1911, etc etc etc...

It is an impossibility to hack up a '15 due to its modularity. Is your's a SP1 or a SP2? Just get another "big screw" Colt upper and barrel it up like I did. DPMS is shit quality.
