There was nothing you had to sign up for and then cancel, iirc.

I can't recall the site offhand, but Privacy Matters 123 does a full report and score for 'free' assuming you cancel the membership and 2 add-ons that are included (yet they kinda don't really inform you about to much but just make sure you cancel them) within like 7 days iirc.

the "annualcreditreport.com" one is the official non-profit site. Any other site is out to make money but they do have some good programs if you want to pay for them.

Eh, I used annualcreditreport.com wound up much better then I figured it would have been but not as good as it could be. Credit is such a bitch, you need credit to build good credit but you can't get credit if you have bad credit.

Car loan is paid off. Have a snowmobile loan, very little left on a personal loan, and a student loan that payments start for in June. I was referring more towards revolving credit rather then installment credit though.

Probably gonna go in tomorrow and pay off the personal loan, either that or drop more into the snowmobile loan.

I had my identity stolen back in 2000. What you can do is call any of the 3 credit bureaus and (at least 2, 1 I had to pick up) will send you a free credit report. If you can, select the option that "you believe you were a victim of identity theft". That will lock your credit and the only way to get a loan approved is if they call you on your cell phone and ask you a few personal questions. I recommend that everyone have this done. I spent months trying to fix things.

I tracked mine to a Student Loan company in Mississippi, my account number was my social security with a -1. Then a Mortgage company in Atlanta ran a credit check on me, then some person in St Louis start buying cell phones with my name. Many cell phones.

I lived in a bunch of places I never lived on my credit report, and had a bunch of accounts open that I never opened of course. Getting turned down for a loan on a new GTI sparked my curiosity on my credit; looked at my report and was flabbergasted.

Because most of the crap on my report wasn't mine, and I had addresses in Florida, A House mortgage in California (I kinda wanna take possession of MY house), and an address in New Jersey. I have a case pending in Federal Circuit court all about it because the assholes at Trans Union and Experian wouldn't do shit. Equifax is the only smart one who removed all of the shit.

House hasn't been paid for and nobody was there when the Glendale PD investigated a year ago. Place looked vacant I was told.

I have I think 6 or 7 cases going against individual companies and 2 of the 3 credit bureaus. I've received settlements in 2 of them that include cash and having the bogus shit cleared from my credit report.
