I bought this one for myself because we got a ton of rain in 24 hours and all the rivers flooded and all I had was a trick kayak :(. My new one is a high volume creeking/expeditionary kayak and I got a new $165 skirt for 90 :)

so buy one and go. The thing about kayaking is that the people that do it love helping noobs. You can get some basic gear and a boat for $400-$500 and be rolling and ready for some class 2 in an hour or so.
