Tofuball 07-06-2008, 03:10 PM Ugh. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j252/Tofuball/VAX%20Engine/Engine7Ewww.jpg Ew. That's prolly because someone mixed the green stuff with the orange stuff. Turbo II Rotor 07-06-2008, 03:19 PM Or they used a lot of tap water, coolant additive and stop leak. Tofuball 07-06-2008, 05:04 PM What you say could be true, I've seen what some stop leak stuff looks like, and the bars leak stuff really aint so bad. This gunk was pretty bad tho. And it stinks. Turbo II Rotor 07-06-2008, 05:27 PM I take it your doing the rebuild? I'm guessing it died of coolant seal failure because your taking the time to clear out the coolant passages of a good housing. Tofuball 07-06-2008, 06:29 PM I don't think we'll be rebuilding that engine. That gunk was from the "meh" housing. Rotor was good though. Customer had me take it apart to see if it would be sane to rebuild that one, or if he should have me just rebuild the good condition one that's in his car currently. I recommended just rebuilding the one he's got in the car since it's got good compression but does eat oil. A soft seal rebuild is a lot cheaper then fixing up that engine in the pic.
