What's it about? Is it fiction? I don't read fiction.
Is it going to help me evangelize my Jewish friends? I have 4 of Dr. Michael Brown's books on Jewish objections to Jesus.

Check out "Copernicus and the Jews" by Daniel Gruber, I recommend it :D
One of the main points of Mr. Grubers message is that, since the the "New Testament" writings were written by Jews, when they were written down, Greek was used in order to attempt to convey Hebraic ideas which were utterly foreign to the Gentile-Greek mind. Later, Gentile translators of the Greek texts, who could have looked, at least, to the Septuagint (Rabbinic Greek translation of the Tanackh - "Old Testament") for clues to meaning, instead, resorted primarily to classic Greek for interpretation.
The result of this misinterpretation were mistranslations that opened a veritable pandoras box of error. As a result Mr. Gruber would argue that terms like "Old Testament", "New Testament", "Christian", and "Church" are not only unbiblical and not only ought not to even exist but are fundamentally destructive! They have served to contribute to the alienation of Jews from their own Messiah and they have miscommunicated to the Gentile world, as well, what it means to be a member of the commonwealth of the people of God.
Sounds kinda kooky.

Yeah, it does, doesn't it? Definitely worth the read.
Is it going to help me evangelize my Jewish friends?
Likely
I have 4 of Dr. Michael Brown's books on Jewish objections to Jesus.
Those are GREAT books :D
Definitely worth the read.
I don't know, Tofu. He may touch on heresy. I'll go along with the idea that church is not promoting/understanding it's jewish origins. And I'll say there's room for some misinterpretation but to suggest we have a "pandoras box of error" opens the door to change anything.
To my POV there should be a unity in Reform Dispensationalism and Messianic theology. (Provided that reform doesn't extend into replacement theology)
Those are GREAT books :D
Have you read any of them? How did you here about them?
that's an impressive list
I would add "The Truth War" by Johnny Mac....funny, John says the college students actually call him that
I have his 5 disc series from Word Pictures on the topic:

If he does, please rebuke us!

I go to a class where the teacher teaches right out of those books :)
I read the Bible these days, and that's about it, too much stuff to get done on the weekend
God gave men gifts to teach. You declare yourself smarter than God. For shame but typically Baptist. Seriously, have you ever read a systematic theology? Ever believer should have one. And also a history of doctrine. Tofu's got no excuse either. I cut him some slack as he's a genuine son of Abraham.
btw, did you know Geisler believes in the Big Bang? I confronted him in person on this issue and was shocked at his worldly/secular response: "because that's what 'science' tells us"
I've heard he's an Arminian, that's a thousand times worse than being a big banga in my book.
The book was helpful, but it was very difficult for me and my 4rth grade reading level.

He's going to be in New Jersey in June, you wanna go? I'm only interested in hearing him talk about Judaism.
