I was at a get together last night. Everything was cool except for the fact that my buddy "Chris" was being a jerk to our friend "Carissa" a very very beautiful and nice young girl. He ended up calling her a dumbass and no one stood up for her.

I was too busy playing Need for Speed something and drinking beer. :D

Chris always finds something to critize Carissa with and tonight was no exception. She only visits because her man is our mutual friend. He choose not to say anything to Chris.

I was able to talk to Carissa alone and she asked me why Chris was such an a-hole to her. Chris, Carissa and I have known each other for about 6 years now. She asked me if Chris didn't like her. My response was "he hates you. The only reason he talks to you is because you're with our buddy"

I reminded her that she was not always as nice and faithful as she is now. I told her that Chris knew she was a liar and cheater a few years back. This was at the same time that Chris had a thing for her. Chris told me he could not forget about the things she had done to people.

She was basically in tears when she told me she was a different person and has been for the past three years. I believed her and I still believe her. I talk to her girl friends on occassion and they say she is a totally different person. She acts like an angel and I would bet money she is 100% faithful to our buddy.

I told her that she can't change the way Chris thinks of her. Chris recognizes it's childish to hold on to crap like that, but he feels for his buddy who's with her. He knows what she's capable of.

I told her that she could either accept his behavior or just not hang around with us. It's that simple. Her man wont stand up to Chris because they've been best friends for a long time.

I should learn to keep my mouth shut after drinking a lot. :(

I have the same kind of problem with some of my friends.

I just keep them seperate :O

I suppose thats hard to do at parties . . .

Personally in this situation, I just would tell the agressor "You can come if you can behave"

Chris sounds like me and not just because he stole my name. When I see my friends being stupid I tell them. It hasn't worked out very well for me PLENTY of times but a true friend will tell you when you're being stupid. I firmly believe that once a skank hoe always a skank hoe. It is just a matter of time before the situation demands her to reclaim her skank hoedom.
