1955 Harrington and Richardson M1 Garand, a bunch (if not all, gotta pick though it some more) national match parts, EXCELLENT wooden parts. And my favorite rifle ever. Only thing missing is the extractor spring and plunger... which is being shipped to me as we speak. Not as fun when its a one-shot deal and i have the pick the case out by hand :D
Cosby 07-26-2007, 11:25 PM pretty sweet
I've wanted an M1 Garand for a long time, how much was it?

but yeah i picked it up for $650, a veritable steal considering its heritage. Ima get a new stock for it so that i dont mess this one up, same with the sling.
Also i can get 192 rounds in clips i a bandoleer for $50 from CMP! yesss
I'm still kicking myself in the ass for not buying those M1s at $99 a piece back in 1998.
Cosby 07-29-2007, 12:34 PM A local store got robbed and they recovered the weapons but theyre being sold up to half off. I'm going to look at getting a hand gun. Realistically, how safe is it to carry a 1911 cocked and locked? I don't really want the double action all the time that the glock has. Ideally, I'd pickup an H&K but I don't think any were stolen.
Steel 07-30-2007, 03:11 PM condition 3 is pretty safe, in order for it to go off, the main saftey would have to be off, then the grip safety would have to be pushed in AND the trigger pulled. The only other safe way to carry it is condition 1, mag in but no round chambered.
Supper 07-30-2007, 03:26 PM 1911 is the original man. If you can't trust a 1911, you can't trust anyother gun.
My favorite quote about 1911's:
GIs carrying 1911s defeated Axis forces, including Austrians. The 1911 was winning battles and saving lives before Gaston Glock was even born – somewhere along the way we probably figured out a thing or two on combat handguns.
Every gun safe needs at least one 1911 and one Glock.
AmishBoy 07-30-2007, 08:27 PM With 1911's your holster is the big thing. Almost every carry holster I've ever had would at some point swipe the safety off. The only way I feel safe with a 1911 is with a big open drop leg or waist holster.
wayneard3413 10-29-2007, 05:59 PM I carry a my Kimber in a cheap little Fobus holster and have never had any problems with the safety getting catching

1revnrex 04-01-2008, 09:12 AM 1911's are what you show your friends. Glocks are what you show your enemies.
