you guys might remember me a couple of months back sayin i had a 87 prelude...well the prelude blew up, im awaiting a new engine from nippon motors, and them im selling it.
i bought a 94 del sol si, and even tho its not very roomy at all, im definatly in love with this car. so if you guys know any good del sol sites, or if any of the shops around here carry del sol aftermarket parts, feel free to let me know :)
see you guys on the streets.
Frankin7 03-17-2004, 07:27 PM illstreet can get you del sol parts i bet. just talk to COsborne. :wiggle:
tbagin is back 03-17-2004, 08:10 PM yeah man cosborne on here if they make it he can get it..... I am sure of that...
SpartanTS 03-17-2004, 09:12 PM Go for the B16 or B18 swap! Even an all N/A del sol will get you in the low 14's relatively easy without much $$$.
CAI, Exhaust, Headers, Cam Gears, B16, S-VAFC, hell any N/A part you can get your hands on.
Or... You could turbo it :)
Frankin7 03-17-2004, 09:22 PM its a honda, they have any part you can think of for the damn car. hehe

I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a performance A/C compressor for a Honda Civic.
H22 swap it.
theres a guy out at westgate with a Sol that pulls 10,200 rpms :)

H22 and a del sol would be almighty fast. But the only problem is that the handling would go str8 down the drain. It'd be soooo front end heavy.
Frankin7 03-17-2004, 09:55 PM holy shi t, 10,200rpms is nuts!!
that'd be awesome to see/hear.

I'd sound like you just put some really cold fries in some really hot grease, lol. I took my car to the full 8500 RPM limit. It wasn't pretty, and not to mention i burned 2 full quarts of oil.
I know a better example...it sounded more like, rice crispies on crack.

this topic has been argued so many times....ppl always complainging about CRX/delsold with H22...the H22 uis only 80lbs more than b-series engines....it wouldnt make a hell of a difference..so go for the h22..

SpartanTS 03-17-2004, 10:36 PM H22 costs less than the B16 for some reason...so i'd def go for the H22 if you can get it done for a good price.
Anyway, I may be wrong about the handling in a del sol, but i've driven a H22 powered 3rd Gen Prelude and it felt nothin like my car. When downshifting out of a curb, I felt like I was on a damn motorcycle.
never ridden in a h22 one i know a b20z sol that handles awesome. cant be much heavier than that i guess dunno honda weights.
HTM Impreza WRX 03-17-2004, 11:04 PM motorcycles handle good :) and why would you be downshifting out of a curb...i try not to be hitting them
SpartanTS 03-17-2004, 11:10 PM Kinda wanted to see how good it was gonna handle it. It felt terrible.
I do it on Heron Circle all the time at the sharp turn right after Business 85 going towards USCS. It feels like a kick in the ass from 3rd to 1st going into that curve (not curb, lol)
Cosby 03-18-2004, 08:38 PM I like del sols. theyre nifty. Take some pics.
okay, i'll go take some now. :)
HTM Impreza WRX 03-20-2004, 02:58 PM an hour and 15 minutes later....
my digi cam is screwed up, it says "door open", i guess i messed it up when i dropped it the other night, give me some time, my gf will be home tonight around 8, and i'll take some pics with her laptop. or if you want to look for me around westgate, its a red del sol, with grey graphics on the sides, and the stock mag rims. and you'll probably hear me fooling around with the car, i just recently put a cai on it, and i was surprised how deep the engine sounds around 3000+ rpm.
