I got a little Crosman Remington pump air gun today. Shoots pretty well, came with a scope.
I'm going to pop our local fox a couple times with it, see if it will keep her away. She got one of my wife's chickens this morning, but my wife, being the "talk to the animals" type, doesn't want to kill the fox until we have to.
There's a 7 day waiting period on shotguns. That will be my next purchase. Then, that fox will be straight up ground meat.

My dad got a paintball gun for squirrels (I don't think he's hit a single one yet), reckon that would work for foxes?

I wouldn't see why not, especially if said paintballs are frozen. lol, nothin' like a little blunt force trauma to settle matters. (though I hear it's just a myth)
Also, +1 to YZF's comment. I seem to remember you having this same problem down at Ol' McT2's farm not too long ago. Offspring getting revenge for slaying their kin?

Yeah, I think it's the same fox. It had disappeared for about 6 months, so we decided to let it live.
That was a mistake.

but you were popping squirrels with it, I doubt a pellet gun will take down a fox, perhaps a well placed shot with a high power version
U must have been out of the pellet gun loop for a while.

It's probably a joke to YZF. As a matter of fact it won't surprise me if he wants to take a shot in the arm while it's flexed to prove that GOD is on his side.......dammit.
