I've been asked to bring the no moderation forum back. What are your thoughts? I think it will be hard to moderate and keep from spilling into the rest of the forum.

I thought it was more like the other way around; the ST forum provided a spill-over place for things that got out of hand in other areas. With very few exceptions (IMO), most members could post freely (and obnoxiously) in ST and then post appropriately (in accordance with the rules) in other sections.

I agree with this 100%. With the exception of Marktard and Queen everyone else could keep it light in STB and if we really felt we needed to go past that we would make a thread in ST. Marktard just shits on everything he comes into contact with so that was the main problem and Queen just got free reign because she was female.........Past that a vast majority of the members here could follow the rules just fine. ST was fun especially for those of us that have been around here for awhile......And it was a good place to break in the noobs........Win win in my book.......

The other thing is that sometimes you're (I'm) bored and just want to cruise the forum, but there's nothing of significance to discuss (or I'm too exhausted to get into a debate). The smacktalk allows for mindless banter and serves as an outlet for verbal abuse, both give & take.
For me, it's the forum equivelent of Monty Python's "Argument Clinic" sketch.
It really should stay. At least give it a try. What the hell; you can always yank the plug later, right?

Make this place all sunshine and rainbows and it is likely to become a ghost town (if it isn't already) there just isn't much in the way of orginal content that can be offered here. Then again, there's no harm in experimenting with new ideas. But, I vote in favour of having a smack talk section (or just having an anything goes policy) otherwise this forum doesn't have a whole lot of interest for me personally.

When valuing a business you multiple the profit by four to determine the minimum that business is worth. In this case, with no changes or growth that value would be $400. Now, you add in the assets of that business. In this case, the domain name, the vbulletin license, the data and the template. At minimum the site is worth $500.

I'm not really sure what you mean by saying half the site isn't viewable by spiders. The only parts that aren't world readable would actually hurt the rank of the site. The forums that were removed were most likely originally created to get certain key phrases in the URL. Those phrases were never picked up and really aren't worth targeting. By removing those other categories and merging the posts in Shooting The Breeze, I eliminated a good bit of PR dilution.

I'm going to reinstate smack talk on a trial basis. It will be member-only-readable and I don't want to see any of that spilling over into the rest of the site.
