Dude Buells are shitty bikes. I wouldn't take one if someone gave it to me.

Yeh you would. :P

I would, and then I'd push it off a cliff. There is a reason Buell lags behind so far in sales, their bikes suck ass. They are weirdly designed, no one likes them, and they get absolutely dominated by just about every other bike in the market.

Those front brakes are insane.

Actaully, their bikes are awesomely designed, except that they were stuck wtih shitty HD aircooled engined. No more. Now Rotax is making the motor for the 1125r, 146hp 84 torques, with the rest of the awesome designedness. Just because it isn't the cookie cutter japanese design doesnt make it bad.

And yes, its expensive. 12g's. STill a lot cheaper than a duc.

Dont get me wrong, i <3 my SV, but i crave the extra 40-some odd hp and cool design of that bike. Gas in the frame! Belt drive!! V-twin awesomness!!!

It's no cheaper than a new Duc 1098, and the 1098 is a much better bike. Why does Buell sell hardly any bikes?

Holy shit. Get your facts straight.

1125R MSRP: 11,995
1098 BASIC: 14,995
1098S: 19,995
1098 Tricolor: 24,995

much better bike eh? So you've ridden both and made up your mind already?

plus vtwin > parallel twin, and the duc will rape you up the ass for maintanence and when it breaks. Buell sells hardly any bikes because 1. they always used HD aircooled shit engines (till now) 2. advertising is nonexistant and its still a relatively new company. Word on the street is the 1125 is taking bikes out to lunch on the track.

Why does ferrari sell hardly any cars (compared to toyota?)

Yeah, $14995, I was off. That bike was introduced with the purpose of being more affordable. It's $3k more, that's not a whole hell of a lot.

Every 2007 Ducati has been introduced with the 50% less maintenance program by the way.

Comparing Buell to Ferrari is completely retarded, the 2 sell few products for VASTLY different reasons. You don't think Buell is well advertised? Everyone knows what a fucking Buell is, and they know the Lightning and Thunderbolt were pieces of shit.

Erik Buell has had a few innovative ideas, but not a single one of them has actually produced anything worthwhile. When was the last time you ever heard of Buell doing anything notable? They are owned by the second largest market share holder in the industry, yet they aren't even on the map as far as market share is concerned. Harley dealers hate having to carry the line because they take up floor space and sell very slowly.

Not a whole hell of a lot? Shit, well sign me a check for $3k if you're so rich. And not everyone knows what a buell is, not hardly. Most people if you point out a streetbike riding down the street will have one of three things to say "Honda", "Yamaha", "Suzuki", Even if it happens to be a Ducati, Triumph, or Buell. Most bikers dont give a shit about anything but 'their' brand.

Granted they dont have a huge market share. They haven't been racing, and most jap bike fans are die hard loyalists and the THOUGHT of anything HD or american motorcycling is appaling to them. You're one of them. You shit all over it without even doing any research, and you sound like one of those douchebags on anyothercarforum.com that bash the 7 without knowing anything about it, or making shit up.

And finally, in the very end, I still think its awesome and I want one. so :P

*edit* wow, holy shit. Apaprently, some major motorcycle news sources are retards and think that an "L-twin" engine is a parallel twin, which explains my little mistake
in the other posts. So yeah, its not.

If you are in the market for a $12,000 bike, jumping from $12,000 to $15,000 ain't that much. You are also talking MSRP, which is not what these bikes sell for.

So quick to throw a label on me! I'd rather not get into the discussion, but I will say that I have more hands on experience with the Harley-Davidson Corporation than you do. I am not knocking their quality, I am knocking the way that they do business. I think they are unethical cowards.

I worked in an Ironhorse store for a while as well, that also sold used Harley's. My argument has nothing to do with "American crap".

I think Buell's are shit bikes and so does most of the motorcycling community. The 1098 would rape that bikes ass, an R1 would rape it's ass, a GSX-R1000 would rape it's ass, and a whole slew of other bikes would as well. If you want a unique bike get a Triumph, they are way cooler than a Buell any day of the week.

And a zx-14 would rape a gsxr1000's ass, so what? And though the 1098 would beat it, it certainly wouldnt be a 'rape'.

That's a nice looking bike. I've looked into buell before, they seem alright bikes. Haven't heard anything negative about buell, actually a friend of mine recommended I buy one, he's been riding for 9 years.

I see tons of Buells here in the Tri-area, so I'd assume they have some success at sales and retaining a customer base.

Being from WI I really do not see many buells around these parts. I guess it doesn't surprise me, but I think they have a large following in certain parts of the country
