Will I have buyers remorse?
Will it break before I put .5 miles on it?

Hm. To buy or not to buy.

#1. No, not if you pay a fair price. You'll like it.

#2. You never know. But probably not.

#3. Yes, if it fits your needs and budget.

That car will be a nightmare. Seriously.

Plain and simple, volkswagons were not designed for the american buyer. We slam the shit out of our doors, we are hard on the buttons. All this shit leads to a headache as the cars get older. Modern volkswagons are notorious for electrical gremlins.

Before you buy it, remember one thing: The only serious aftermarket available for VW/Audi is for the 1.8 turbo motor. If you're leaving it stock, that's one thing. If you want to mod it, you need to shell out the extra money, get a newer car, and get the 1.8T.

It's not really going to be anything modified *that* much. It's going to mainly be an on again/off again commute car and poke around town car. I already have a daily driver... so if it needs minor work, it doesn't matter much to me. Just something fun'ish with a hatch.

There are some nice mods for it... but if it gets turbo'ed, I'd probably have to rebuild the engine - which I might have to do anyway.
