I'm looking for something for friends that are visiting and happen to be in the mood for a bike ride.
Is this a Horst suspension?

czarofzar 08-19-2009, 06:32 PM No fat friends, batty? Can I be your friend? I'll be your first plump friend.
Acoustic Captive 08-19-2009, 06:40 PM Hmmm, I never pictured you plump, czar.
czarofzar 08-19-2009, 06:46 PM My pic is around here somewhere
Acoustic Captive 08-19-2009, 07:01 PM Ohh, I see. I'm too lazy to go look for it though =)
czarofzar 08-19-2009, 09:17 PM I think you need 30 posts to unlock the hidden files and threads. Don't you see the Smacktalk section?
If you can open this link, and you are curious what we look like, you'll likely find us in there

Acoustic Captive 08-19-2009, 10:54 PM Nah, I can't even see that one yet, and the link just told me I need at least thirty posts.
I guess I'll just have to wait until then.
Cosby 08-20-2009, 12:17 AM Well you're at least on your way there pretty quick. And I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thanks for posting thoughtful posts and not mindless bullshit.
Acoustic Captive 08-20-2009, 12:36 AM Well thanks. I know how annoying that can get.
Alex-7 09-04-2009, 05:42 PM Stick any friends on that pile and they'll never be in the mood for a bike ride again.
That looks like a Horst link but it's got a fucking spring on it!
Springs are for down hill bikes only...! That thing probably weighs 50lbs... seriously. 50 lbs.
Bikes with names of car manufacturers on them are always totally crap walmart junk. I actually saw a road bike called a yukon denali the other day...lmfao!
You CAN NOT get a decent full suspension bike for under a grand. Plain and simple. and a grand will only get you a "decent" FS bike. I just built my first FS cross country bike last spring, A giant anthem. I bought some used parts from ebay, and got the rest of it at cost from the bike store my girlfriend works at and I spent well over $1500. The only thing worse than no suspension, is bad suspension. Mushy, energy sapping crap.
You really don't need a full squishy bike for guests BATMAN. I'd buy a basic hardtail like a Cannondale F7, new for around $600 or under, used for a bit less, or a Giant Rincon or something along those lines (FROM A BIKE SHOP>>> NOT WALMART). They're fairly light, work well and are fun for anyone to ride. They also hold their value, which will be good when you figure out that people who don't normally ride a bike, typically don't ever want to ride a bike.....
If you buy a cannondale people will think it's expensive even though it isn't..... we all know how much you like that :)
Queen 09-04-2009, 09:56 PM did you find a sweet helmet that a visor would fit under?

Alex-7 09-08-2009, 03:35 PM did you find a sweet helmet that a visor would fit under?
HAHAHAH! I actually have been know to sneak a visor underneath....!
Your post makes me all nostalgic and misty eyed for the old days..... What's to become of everyone?
