BATMAN 02-04-2009, 11:31 AM A 4-year-old girl in Southern California died after she climbed into a washing machine that began tumbling when her toddler brother hit its simple push-button start.
Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said Kayley Ishii apparently climbed into the front-loading washer Monday afternoon. Her 15-month-old brother either bumped or pushed the button to start the machine.
Amormino said the machine's controls were only 20 inches from the floor and the start switch was a simple push button. The girl was in the water-filled, tumbling machine for at least two minutes before her mother found her.
An autopsy Tuesday found Kayley died of blunt force trauma and the death was ruled accidental.
oakback 02-04-2009, 12:18 PM Holy crap, sad indeed.
Steel 02-04-2009, 01:41 PM Damn. That sucks.
DarkAngelKamui 02-04-2009, 01:51 PM At least she has clean clothes to be buried in.
Too soon? :dunno:

DeRFmAn 02-04-2009, 02:33 PM the kid doesn't know anything it is 15 months old, do you remember stuff from that time?
BackyardSog 02-04-2009, 02:35 PM I have a good friend who works for the OCSD. I'll have to ask him if he was on scene for this.

I'm sure the kid will be reminded, many many times.
Misty Rayne 02-04-2009, 02:53 PM thats sad :( at least it wasn't done on purpous

Not sure if it made the news here. But I did read about it last week on another website when it happened. Horrible.

Hopefully the kid wont have asshole parents that remind him of that fact.
Queen 02-04-2009, 03:39 PM I'm sure "oh by the way, you had a sister but you inadvertently killed her when you were a year and half old" is going to have to come up at some point

Its 1 and 1/4th of a year. If it was my kid i'd just say she died in an accident and leave it at that.
edit: I can't believe i have as many post as I do...i hardly ever post on here.
Alex-7 02-04-2009, 04:47 PM Seems like staging a scenario like this would be a good way to murder your little kid...
Think someone got away with something? Pos?

I hope it was just an accident. That would be horrible if they killed that kid.
BATMAN 02-04-2009, 05:03 PM the kid doesn't know anything it is 15 months old, do you remember stuff from that time?
for me it's a little foggy, but that's probably the time i learned about my wee wee........ and the bliss that it gives to me.
Alex-7 02-04-2009, 05:03 PM Pin in on an infant?
Brilliant :(
BATMAN 02-04-2009, 05:04 PM Hopefully the kid wont have asshole parents that remind him of that fact.
it's on the Picasa photo family albums.......
DarkAngelKamui 02-04-2009, 06:11 PM I guess the curious part for me is how the thing was activated.
Sure, the controls might have been low enough to reach, but don't you usually have to put a bit of force on those glass doors to shut front loaders? (at least from what I remember back when I had to use em)
I find it somewhat hard to believe the infant managed to shut the door AND press the button to activate it "accidentally". Then again, I have seen some pretty cruel 1 year olds before.

/facepalm
I can assure you that if you catch on to the fact that 3/12 = 1/4, I am also well aware of it.. but I will ignore that you missed the point of my post entirely (as well as my rounding up for the sake of simplicity) to let you continue to bask in the fact that you did master simple fractions back in first grade

What i'm wondering is how the controls were 20 inches off of the ground? Even without the little stand thingie, the controls to mine are 3'. With the stand (which is good for us tall fucks) the controls are over 4' from the ground. And on top of that, after putting a good amount of force to close the door, you have to select a cycle and then press and HOLD the start button to get it going. Methinks there's going to be some major redesigns in front loaders. As in putting the controls on the very top and making it possible to open the door from the inside with enough force or something.

I didn't miss the point of your post. I responded to that with my statement about if i was the child's parent. I actually don't remember if that was in 1st grade.
lol
LOOK! You made the zealot happy.

Romans 12:19-21
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Being a follower of Christ is a high calling. To say you follow Him is to acknowledge that you are a sinner, and you don't deserve heaven.
Do you think yourself more worthy of heaven then Mark?
czarofzar 02-05-2009, 07:33 AM why wasn't that addressed to me, tofu? I guess miracles never do happen. BTW, still need that hammer drill?
oakback 02-05-2009, 08:22 AM ...religion bullshit...
ANYWAYS...Our front loader is part of a stacked unit (Maytag Neptune unit), so the controls are smack on the front, not that high off the floor, a 3-year-old could reach it. A small kid couldn't push the button though (my 7-year-old has trouble pressing it), but I've seen older washers that much less pressure to press, like a doorbell.
Tofuball 02-05-2009, 08:34 AM why wasn't that addressed to me, tofu? I guess miracles never do happen. BTW, still need that hammer drill?
I did't think I had to specify. :P
Yeah, I never did figure out how to get another collet for that drill. I was taking a 4 day long break from working on the house. I'll prolly be back on it this afternoon or next X_X
aznpoopy 02-05-2009, 09:35 AM damn. rip.
