We started off kinda small... Built a ring out of some of the pine I had dissected, since they won't burn because they aren't even remotely dried out...

Just to put in perspective how big the fire pit is, the largest of those pine logs are about 18 inches across.

And this is just one of the 8 piles or so that needed to be burned. That's not counting the shit I still have to cut down when I get the new saw.

Wow. I would guess someone would start to worry once you started tossing a few of those fresh pine niddles in the fire. Should be fun though.

Smokey the bear thinks it's a bad idea to make a fire ring out of wood. He says it's up there with honey-based bee repellant.

That fire ring is freshly cut 18" pine. There is NO way it will catch on fire. I've thrown pieces of it directly into the fire, and it won't catch. Too much water, too much sap.
