jhammons01 07-21-2005, 02:40 AM The 2 1/8" Flywheel nut is hard You'll need an impact or if the motor is out, take it to a Deisel shop. turboSE 07-21-2005, 02:42 AM i got mine of by Using an impact gun 4 about 2 minutes!!!11!!! and then jus smack the flywheel(carefull w/ a hammer) and bam!!!! came right off Cosby 07-23-2005, 10:57 AM I use a 400 lb-ft impact gun with a 1/2"-3/4" adapter. They generally spin right off. Another option is to go "obtain" a sign post and use that on a 1/2" breaker bar. You can use a chain bolted into the flywheel in two holes and then into another hole on the block to keep it from rotating or take a nice thick piece of steal or iron stock, drill holes to match the flywheel and then bolt it on to keep it from rotating. The impact gun method is a lot quicker and easier though. |
