The Electronics forum seems to be pretty dim. I haven't seen a post here since i've come to the site. I'm rather interested in helping out with any Electronic/Car Audio Questions but just haven't seen anyone post anything. Welllllllllllll for starters..I know most of you race so you don't want the weight of a system. But for ppl like me who don't do much racing if any at all, what is your Car Audio System like??? What do you have?

I have the stock bose system in my car and I like it a lot... its just right for me except I'd like maybe a little more bass but I dont really want to spend money on that.

I have an Apline ProDrive head unit and MB Quart component speakers. My next purchase is going to be a 400x4 amp for them and 2-12s. I still have a 800watt RF amp out of my CRX for the subs.

All Lightning Audio Components all the way around.

3 Sony 12"s, Sony 1200GSD, and a Sony CDX-860 Head Unit.

Although Sony isn't a Alpine or a JL, they don't break the pocket and I can get the most bang for the buck. If I were to spend 400 on a JL Component set, I wouldn't feel like the 400 was a good decision b/c i've heard them as well as other high end components. Anyway, that's what i'm working wit and not to mention my 148 db SPL, and that's sealed.

Ive had 2 Sony head units and a home audio system. Something went wrong with all of them shortly after the warrantys were up. The home system quit playing CDs, the first head unit quit working all together and the one in the red mustang now wont load or play CDs and the remote quit working. Thats why Im anti-Sony.

sony CDX-something head unit.... it changes colors.... uhm... some speakers i stole outta a junk yard car and some factory amps, one of which is broken. sounds tight when i crank it up cus my bass be gettin distorted yo...

I plan on getting new speakers soon, and maybe even some subs. Money is always an issue though.

In the truck I have a new Pioneer DEH-4500 MP3 player, Lightning Audio 300 watt amp and a Kicker Comp VR 12. In the stang I have a Sony Xplod cd player and a pieced together component set.

got pioneers 6.5s in doors...fosgates 6.5s in rear deck...sh*itty head unit...bobo tweets on dash in place of stock tweets..

what yr is that 800watt amp? pics? model number? etc..

its the old 1999 style 800x2. black with fins. its in the garage attic with my crx parts and wires.

The whole system in my car is out dated by at least 8 yrs. Head unit is Sony, it was a discontinued model from Crutchfield at something like $158 shipped. AM/FM CD changer controller w/ no cassette player. The display has gotten to where u can't read it now. Amp is a Jensen 75x4 and driving 6 speakers, 2 Kicker 12's in ported box, pair of Jensen 6.5's in the rear deck that I took out of an rx7 I had parted out, and pair of Polk Audio mid/tweets under the dash near the kick panels. By the instructions with the amp, the Jensens and Polk Audios are receiving 75w rms each, and the Kickers are receiving 125w rms each. For no more than what it is, it rocks pretty good.

I'm glad ppl are posting...it was just looking kinda dim in here so had to live'n it up.

I've had my share of systems, over 10 different setups in the last 4 years. From starting out with two Fultron 10"s on a Jensen amp when I was young and dump. To a Solo Baric 15" in a vented box on a ZR600 that I shouldn't have never sold just to buy books for college that I didn't even damnit use.

The 3 Sony 12"s in my car now is probably the 3rd loudest setup i've had. Nothing yet has touched that 15" Solo and my 2nd loudest was 2 L7 10"s on a Lightning Audio S1.600. If I can sell my Sony stuff, i'm definately going back to Kicker again and possibly getting a CompVR 18". I know it's gonna be heavy back there, but I don't do the racing thing too much, I'm into ICE so racing comes 2nd. Oh yea, if anyone wants subs/amp, i'm selling all for 250 and you can get the amp for 150 and the 3 subs for 100.

Anyone here do any SPL competing?

someone stole my speakers when my engine blew.

ive got a 5 year old pioneer cd player, alpine 4 channel 400watt amp, jl 12w0, infinity kappa 6.5" in the rear deck. i use to have 2 12w0's in the car but something happened with both so i just bought one replacement and a walmart box...no not the kind with the ghey neon!
