hit "print screen" on your keyboard, beside f12.

go into mspaint, and hit "edit", then "paste"

You then can save the file.

Apple-Shift-3 takes a full-screen shot, apple-shift-4 gives you crosshairs to snag an area.

Though I prefer using Grab, saves the screen as a TIFF instead of a PDF. TIFFS go to JPG much easier than PDFs.

I miss the old PICT format MacOS Classic saved screenshots as.

And on Linux, 'scrot' is a great utility.

^ thanks!

I take it that 'scrot' is Linux's version of Grab? I was also wondering how to take screen shots with Linux.

You want to daw your design out on a piece of paper first. You tape the piece of paper on the pumpkin and outline the design using a knife to poke holes through the paper and onto the pumpin. Then you want to remove the paper and connect the dots using a pen. Then you cut out the pieces you need to cut out with a thin sharp knife.
